Punts are much harder to catch.

Funny punt returning story. in my freshman year I was shagging punts in practice. I and the guy who was the punt returner from the previous year were alternating returns. One punt was very high and I signaled for a fair catch. The guy from the previous year asked me what I did. I said I signaled for a fair catch with my arm. He asked me what does that mean. I explained to him that they cannot touch you as you make the catch but you cannot return the punt. He was like wow that is really cool. I was thinking you returned punts all last season and you did not know what a fair catch sign is? No wonder the coaches loved him, they thought he was fearless not clueless.

Here's one for you all: What would be the football equivalent of a triple play in baseball?

Sack, forced fumble, fumble recovery TD?

Nas was great at returning kicks (almost 30 yds per with a long of 76) but he never got a chance at returning punts.

I used to think that a return man was a return man, but there seems to be a real difference between a KR and PR.

Considering touchbacks are practically the norm these days, I’d say that having an electric punt returner is way more valuable.

Whozit gonna be this year? KJ? Not even sure he makes the 53.

We signed Ryan Smith from the Bucks. CB/ KR mainly for STs. Not sure about the fit but could be KR/ PR, gunner.

Old school OU wishbone triple option with a late downfield pitch for the TD.

Thanks Roo but I am very impressed with your knowledge as well.

My brain has been fading over the last 4/5 years. Football is one thing I can still focus on so it’s been a constant in my trying not to lose what I have left of my mind.
I used to consider myself a well read, educated, articulate, mostly open-minded individual but my fading memory, math skills, and ability to process language give opposing evidence most everyday now. :mcnugget: :wtf:

RB * Austin Ekeler, Joshua Kelly, Gabe Nabers, Joe Reed * for some reason don't have Rountree 3 making the 53, and to the ps instead, and.... not sure JJ makes the cut either
WR * Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, Jaylen Guyton, Tyron Smith, KJ Hill, Josh Palmer * like Eli Stove some but think he goes to the ps, and.... not sure Proehl lands on the roster
TE * Jared Cook, Donald Parham, Tre McKitty * Anderson might well be the odd man out
OT * Bryan Bulaga, Storm Norton, Rashawn Slater * like Darius Harper as a developmental guy to the ps, albeit not sure 'bout the futures of either Pips nor Tyree
OG * Matt Feiler, Oday Aboushi, Brenden Jaimes * think the latter can play some RT, but will put him here for now
OC * Corey Linsley, Scott Quessenberry * not sure this isn't gonna be a problem over the 19 or so game schedule

I think it's the INT. You shut off the opposite offense and then you are on offense.

Always enjoy seeing your rosters.

The easy questions...........

1) No JJacks or Rountree? Why?
2) Joe Reed to RB? Why? What gives you any inclination this will happen other than TPB posters (like me) bringing it up?
3) KJ Hill ahead of J. Palmer? Why? Eli Stove is not a Bolt any longer.
4) S. Norton over year 3 Pipkins? Never happening. Do agree only 8/9 Olinemen on the 53.
5) Tranquill is an ILB. No Kyzir? Very unlikely.
6) Bosa, Nwosu, Fackrell, Rumph, Egbule are EDGE players.
7) Alohi will contribute on both D and ST, Smart, disciplined, physical, and has leadership skills. Just the type of DB Staley likes.
8) Ryan Smith is a 53 lock and will probably be our ST Captain.
9) None of the “specialists” are likely to keep their jobs, certainly not all 3.

He is also a below average but not terrible corner who has played and even started a few games there in his career. Based on where Facson was last season, he is better than him. And Tevaughn Campbell
