Sound advice, but personally that’s part of the fun of having a new HC.
We get to speculate on possible fits and hidden gems.
With the depth we have at WR, he probably will be lucky to be on the PS, but Telesco still went out of his way to claim him off the waiver wire, so let us dream while the dreaming’s good! Ha

Our interest in Austin Proehl is interesting
not a burner type (sorry chainy)
just another pair of sure-hands and strong route runner
Lombardi is counting on Herbert’s accuracy, and asking WRs to simply make the catch.
we’re sacrificing speed so to me that means we’re comfortable with our vertical threats and are looking for guys who can get open underneath with precise routes to stretch the field horizontally

Proehl=poor man's Woodhead...he's bounced around a lot of practice squads...Bills, Titans, Rams, Niners...camp fodder and possible mid-season call-up in case of injury...if Greasy Gloves Guyton keeps on dropping the rock, Proehl has an outside shot to make team...

Agree. I don’t know what is wrong with Guyton. He was sure handed in the beginning of the season, had some drops then became consistent again. Maybe he was overthinking it. Or already thinking about how he will celebrate in the endzone while the ball was still in the air.

Dropsies ultimately got Guyton cut elsewhere. It must be a concentration issue.

Proehl is sure handed with short area quickness. There's KR potential and maybe even some Gunner action.

great GM's are never happy..... always trying to upgrade, and improve...... more competition the better.....

Chiefs and TB were loaded with offensive talent, yet still drafted more......

TB had a great pass rush but drafted more rushers.....

Ravens always have good defense yet they draft more defensive talent every year......

Can he return punts? Maybe he’s the Wes Welker that we almost had. I remember seeing Welker tearing it up in preseason after we signed him as an UDFA. I knew he was special.

Yep...and then the Bolt Brass tried to quietly stash Welker on the PS...then he got poached...

The question is can he return punts better than Adderly? He was pretty impressive when he got his shot at returns last year.
