good point. true that he got in Lynns doghouse

I think the Chargers can probably keep Jackson Tuesday, waive Kelly; go through protocals; put Jackson on IR - he misses three games, bring back Kelley

Tyrell Crosby was released by the Bills - Chargers need to be talking to him

Rick Wagner is a Free Agent - Telesco needs to call him

If Storm or Pipkins is on the roster the day of the WFT game and we don't hear about tryouts, Telesco is not doing his damn job

I would say the same about kickers with Slye, Pineiro, and the possibilities in Tampa and Baltimore with their back up Kickers

He is currently on the COVID list I guess but he cant stay there.
1 year for 1.5 mill, doesn’t even enter into the comp pick equation at that price. He is worth a roster spot if healthy for his ST skills, and doesn’t count against the 53 man roster while on the Covid list. Might knock Amen O down to PS when healthy?

TT should have Jakeem Grant on speed dial for that WR6/PR role. Word is Dolphins aren’t keeping him because Waddle’s on return duties now, and they would trade Grant for a late round pick rather than letting him hit the waiver wire. Grant received All-Pro votes as a returner last year and had 36 catches, too.

Pretty sure most would agree that Grant is better than KJ Hill and Bandy.

Grant would be the best kick returner we've had since Sproles. Does he return punts? KJ Hill is nothing special, but he does do both.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

It's not really that hard. You have JJ who produces when he is healthy, about 65% of the time. Or Kelley who does not produce when he IS healthy. At least with JJ you do get som production.

Yes. He actually more of a punt returner than kick returner, which is exactly what we need. Here’s everyone of his punt returns from 2020.

And here’s his receptions from last year.

I'd like to do a bit of hindsight drafting here.

I don't know where Tre' McKitty is in his development. But Cook and Parham are locks. Stephen Anderson has looked pretty good in the preseason, and he started to build some rapport with Herbert late last season, if you remember that. His strength is as a blocking TE though (correct me if I'm wrong). It may come down to having to make a tough decision between McKitty and Anderson. I'm just thinking the #97 pick could have been used for more OL help, to upgrade from Storm and Pipkins.

OT James Hudson, 6-4, out of Cincinnati, was available. The Browns drafted him in the 4th round at #110, and he is listed as the No. 2 LT on their depth chart. At #128 in the 4th round, the Steelers drafted OT Dan Moore, 6-5, 309 out of Texas A&M. He, too, is listed as the 2 LT on the Steeler's depth chart.

I realize that if Telesco had used the #97 pick on either of these guys, he might have made a different decision at #159 in the 5th round, where he drafted Brenden Jaimes. But why not draft an OT with the second 3rd pick and another OT in the 5th after drafting an OT with the 1st round pick? What's wrong with drafting three OTs, when your OL was the team's biggest liability the previous season, and you want turn it around in one year?

I hope McKitty makes me look stupid by having a surprise rookie season. But right now it looks like we could have gotten McKitty's skill set in free agency or later in the draft or from a UDFA. Or, even better, IMO, pay Hunter Henry with all the cap space the Chargers have not used, and eliminate the need to draft a young TE that is going to take time to develop. This team needed OL more than it needed a TE.

ADDENDUM: I didn't clarify that James is an OG for the Bolts. So it would have been OT in rounds 1 & 3 and an OG in round 5. I would prefer that to drafting a TE with a round 3 comp pick that is going have a big impact right away.

49ers and Steelers will cut backs that are better than Jackson and Kelley.... If we ONLY keep 3 RB's, our 3 RB's have to be healthy and not injury prone.....

There should be several players cut at RB, OL, K...... etc that are better than our current depth and can help this team

No, the Chargers haven’t signed him.

In my post I explained that the Dolphins are considering trading him for a late round pick rather than cutting him. The Dolphins drafted Jaylen Waddle, who they plan on using as their returner, thus pushing Grant on the bubble.

“The Dolphins have a deep, diverse WR room, but they cannot keep them all. Jakeem Grant has probably been on borrowed time ever since the Dolphins took Jaylen Waddle No. 6 overall in April’s NFL Draft, another speedy wideout who was electric in the return game at Alabama.

Grant received All-Pro votes as a specialist in 2020 after averaging 11.4 yards per punt return and 21.5 yards per kickoff return a year ago. He also set a Dolphins record with an 80-yard punt return for a touchdown against the Rams last fall. Therefore, Grant could be the final missing piece for teams with Super Bowl aspirations. His salary could be a complicating factor, however, as he is due $3.6 million this year.“

It’s kind of funny the Dolphins drafted Waddle to provide Tua a familiar face hoping to recapture the magic he had in Alabama. Now they’re to trade him away, if the rumors are true.
