I'm over the Ty Johnson cut. I've had my say. He's a Jag now. I'll give Staley the benefit of the doubt. He knows things we don't.
Now, what about Josh Palmer for Offensive Rookie of the Year. If not for Herbert's record-setting rookie season, a WR would have won it last year. What if Palmer duplicates what Justin Jefferson did last season? The biggest barrier for Palmer to put up those numbers is because the Chargers have too many good pass catchers for Palmer to get that many targets as a rookie. The Vikings did not last season, and Jefferson filled that void. But even if Palmer doesn't equal Jefferson's output a year ago, he can still be good enough to win rookie of the year. I doubt Mac Jones or Trevor Lawrence or Justin Fields do what Herbert did as a rookie. So why not Palmer?Comment

I like Trevor Lawrence though and I’m glad he has a decent deep threat now.Tom Telesco’s Results in 9 years as Chargers GM:

- 2 playoff wins despite elite QB all 9 yrs
- Team still has the same weaknesses (Oline and run defense) that it had when hired as GM in 2013

Second, you cannot cut Pipkins unless there is a better option out there to replace him. One thing to keep in mind, say they are looking at a veteran. If that vet has more than 4 years experience, if on the Roster week 1 - guaranteed salary. IF after Week 1 - not all guaranteed.
