Before any player can be added to the Practice Squad, he has to be waived, and go unclaimed.

The Bolts have to waive two players to make room for these new guys. If those waived players aren't claimed, it's almost a certainty they'll be added to the P.S.

Someone leaked to a writer that Joe Gaziano will be signed to the P.S.

Jags had first claim and snatched him right quick. To me this indicates that Johnson had trade value. Letting him go and getting nothing in return is a failure on the part of our FO.

Banks is a replacement for Gaziano...see skillsets. Staley knows Banks. Chargers surmised he would be available.

Staley clearly stated yesterday that it was Broughton vs Merrill, and that he likes Merrill's anchor and upside.

Know your depth charts.

Yeah, losing Johnson is a bummer. I’m not surprised he got snatched up. But the fact that the team with the top waiver priority made them their top pickup makes it more disappointing.

Well apparently Staley and Co didn’t think he was worth a roster spot. It is what it is. I’m not as worried about our WR depth compared to our OL depth.
