So much this! It wasn't THAT we were running. It's because it was predictable. That 2nd Raiders game was just the most obvious example.

I am a huge proponent of being balanced. But when your run plays are predictable, and you aren't good at it... let's not do that so often on first and ten.

I'm an advocate of throwing to set up the run. I also don't believe the run should totally be abandoned even when trailing. Problem was as you stated, the Chargers offense was predictable and if it weren't for being blessed with a rookie phenom QB the point totals would have even been less

I'm thinking that Lombardi tried to institute things in Detroit that didn't work or maybe couldn't work with the players they had. I mean it's not like Gus had 6 out of the last 8 years to prove himself and Lynn 4 years....Eyes Rolling!
