I just read that he was the most productive RB in the NCAA after Etienne and Najee. Obviously, he is not at their level, but his production is undeniable.

This year more than ever, I have read more contradictory assessments of draft picks than I can ever remember. A lot of them are totally contradictory. Some read like the analyst just looked at a stat sheet and based the review on that alone. Maybe COVID did this?
Regardless, hard for me to put much stock in any of these published reports

Player Bio
Reliable runner with good feel for run-lane development but just average burst. Robinson's feet, finesse and vision allow to probe from gap to gap against conference competition, but tighter NFL running lanes mean he'll need to be more physical and more urgent to succeed between the tackles. The college production is unlikely to translate into the pros, but he's well-rounded enough to compete for a back-end roster spot if he runs to his size and can play on special teams.
This is the scouting report on James Robinson of the Jags, who as a UDFA last year ran for 1070 yards and 7 TDs and had 50 catches for 344 yards and three more TDs. He had very limited expectations coming out of Illinois State last year. He did some damage to the Bolts defense last season and I was envious for what the Jags had found. You just never know how a player is going to surprise you in the NFL. Who knows, maybe this year's Robinson is named Rountree.
