This is a good listen/watch. Staley gets all the former players ramped up during interviews.

Posted this in the main thread but still nice to see Staley’s scheme in effect:

That was a hallmark of the LAR D last year: getting Donald singled up.

This is another thing that will keep Bosa fresh. Fighting through double teams takes a lot more energy.

Interesting that a defensive coordinator tries to create matchups that might allow his best players to maximize their skill set. It happens on offense.

Its smart that Staley would design a defense to allow Donald &/or Jalen Ramsey the ability to be as free as possible

Hopefully Staley is doing that for Bosa and James - other guys are the "dirt workers" so to speak to help the two best players.

Bosa is still going to deal with stamina drain. And this team is still depending on him too much when it comes to pass rush. Staley and Hill are gonna have to get sack productions from other pass rushers on the defensive front. They're gonna have to do this, if they want the defense to improve.

Dan Hampton from the Bears once said he would rather run 100 yard wind sprints than fight off double teams.

I was hearing on the last drive that Staley actually was not considering going for the kick and the 3 point lead but that he brought the FG team on to the field simply to get a psychological edge by making the Chiefs defense relax thinking they would have a harder time getting fired up to make the stop.

That makes me think the game management was even tighter than I first thought and thats a pretty interesting move. Even when I thought we should have ran more time off before scoring that also was originally a running play that Herbert changed in to a pass where he threw the TD.

May have backfired a bit with Slater jumping when the O went back out.

3 games into a 17+ game season they have a lot if stuff left to "unpack".
Coach Rodgers edge crew are Joey, Nwosu, Fackrell & Rumph.
Tranquill had some pressures. So did Tillery, Joseph & Gaziano.
White & DJ will blitz, among others.
We're doing OK so far and it's a good bet that it'll be an evolutionary process depending on our development and opponent specifics.

The difference between an Anthony Lynn coached team and a Brandon Staley coached team is very, very, noticable.
