Who said anything about UDFAs - the team will have cap space to use on other players. It won't be a lot of cap space - but they can be creative.

Right now, Bosa Mack and Williams are expected to count in salary - $65m next year. Allen is expected to count 23m in salary - so thats $88m for those four players

The team is 0-2 with them. I know they wouldn't be as good without them but thats a lot of jack for those guys not bringing it. Isn't that right Tim Ryan? "Tell me about "

Looks like Kendricks is going to be Thomas Davis 2.0 - granted he has time but if not, he's gone

with that kind of lead and 5-0 in the turnover department has ever lost. Staley should have been fired.

Reid was a HOF HC before he ever came to KC. The fact that he inherited Mahomes was just an indicator of things to come.

It's going to take Payton 2-3 years to right the ship in Denver. He basically inherited a mess.. They may just tank this year, get a top QB in the draft
and be at least be competitive next year. In a couple years Denver is going to be a major headache for us. We actually would be in a much better
situation had we brought in Payton instead on Staley. In fact I know no knowledgeable football person that would disagree.
so Payton. aka the world's greatest coach, should get 3 years to fix it, but Staley is gone in 2 yrs 2 games? got it lol.

I'm not rejoicing the Staley Songs, btw - just noting your standard is oddly different for the two. A good number here swore that Payton would fix Denver with what he has there - even commented on him fixing Wilson etc etc. I said bullshit, he's a "great coach" because he had a HOF QB and as soon as that QB left, his team in NO tanked.

You have a defensive minded coach brought in to fix a defense that he just can't seem to fix no matter what. That's a problem. We consistently lose to all the better teams in the NFL and we look stupid doing it. That's a problem. You can't have a defense that works good for 1-2 quarters per game and then just sucks due to breakdowns. That's a problem. Having a bad two minute drill on offense that breaks down all the time. That's a problem.

Good lord, are you blind? Staley inherited a young elite QB with what has become a stacked team both on offense and defense. The team is built to win today.
Payton inherits an old broken QB and a team who just fired their coach and finished the year 5-12. But you don't see a difference?

This is a ridiculous comparison. The Chargers HC is a supposed defensive specialist and his defenses have ranked 29th, 21st and now in the past two games I would guess dead last so far this season. Keep in mind he inherited a team with Herbert on a rookie deal who just had the best rookie year since Dan Marino at Qb and a ton of cap space to hand pick his players for his defense.

So far this year the offense looks like it will likely be a top ten unit and the defense is so bad it is beyond comprehension how one of the highest paid defensive rosters in the league can perform so poorly.

Payton is not "the world's greatest coach," imo however there's no point in minimizing his accomplishments as a coach to try to prop up the current Chargers HC.

The Saints before his arrival were an awful franchise and if you remember Brees wasn't exactly considered a future HOF at the time he was signed there. He was coming off a serious injury and that franchise was a mess. Payton as a HC won a Super Bowl there and kept them in contention for a very long time.

That is the kind of track record that earns a coach 3 years at a new place like Denver to right the ship.

That would be a waste to get rid of Allen then and Bosa only to waste the money on other overpriced failing vets. Everyone here wants to gut the team and go back to wining he salary cap super bowl each year.

No thanks, been there and done that. Its no fun. At least this is a new way to lose.

Nobody cares about big salaries when the players produce at least in the neighborhood of their paycheck. Keenan is doing that. Remains to be seen with Bosa, MW and Mack. JCJ was a total waste.

The circle of Charger life - here we go again. Won't make the playoffs two years in a row in the Telesco era.
Maybe but that's a big mess contract they gave Wilson and a tough one to swallow. It's gonna hurt.

Well you keep saying that but when we traded Hopkins and made another move I forget what it was, it was tweeted that it brought our next year's projected cap down from 46 mil to 43.

Somebody's math is wrong. Not saying it's you but somebody is.

And I assume that is taking into account who we are surely losing.
In any case, we will be fine on the cap.
                    Saints always are.

They will get it figured out and a couple tough releases will be made. I'd rather keep Keenan than MW if we have to lose one.

Note: Bosa Mack and Williams aren't. They are not difference makers.

JCJ - bust, hurt, wrong player for scheme- whatever - June 1 him next year

Player Personnel decisions - still the weakest link of this roster and if you add in a terrible coaching staff - this is what you get
