What is the Chargers general policy in regards to extensions and or new contracts for players currently under contract? By that I mean, does Telesco have a cut-off date, like season opener, trade deadline or keeps in touch with player agents throughout the season trying to negotiate contracts?

Drew looks to be making this comparison specific to “this offense”
me thinks Staley pounded the table for MW thus being retained at his high salary
MW has a knack for converting 2 pointers, maybe that comes handy in a playoff game
or two?Chargers vs. Everyone

Ted Nguyen talks about the X receiver:
How does a defense get labeled "figured out"? Can a defense disguise as "man" up until the snap to throw off the offense?
Not so much a scheme/strategy question, but I would love to see film examples or breakdowns of the difference between what an X and a slot receiver are asked to do. We hear a lot about how some guys can play outside and others are slot guys, and I feel like I generally understand the distinctions, but it would be interesting to see examples of the difference and why some guys can do one job but not the other. — John W.
Outside receivers will likely see more press coverage, and they have the disadvantage of being closer to the sideline. They don’t have the two-way go that slot receivers have, which means they must be able to win inside more and this usually requires more physicality. You don’t necessarily have to be physical to win inside — you can do it with great route running (example: Stefon Diggs). Because of the space limitations and the fact that you’ll likely go against the other team’s best cover guy, you must have the ability to make contested catches, and that requires size and length.
Slot receivers have the threat of breaking inside or outside, so it’s advantageous to have quicker guys play the slot. Guys with shorter limbs usually are a little quicker and have a little more burst. In the slot, you need guys who can win right away for quarterbacks. Long speed is not as important because you aren’t running a ton of fade routes from the slot. In the slot, you have to have a great feel for finding open spaces and reading coverages as well. There are bigger receivers who have enough burst to win quickly and have a feel for the game like Michael Thomas. And in offenses that use a lot of compressed formations like the Rams, you can have smaller receivers play outside because they see less press coverage and have the threat of a two-way go.

I think Brees is going to be an outstanding broadcaster if he can just loosen up a little bit and be more human. He is obviously really, really smart and knows the game. But what makes a guy like Romo so popular is his personality. Brees is vanilla ice cream right now. His play by play partner will need to draw him out.
TGLike, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.
