And Ingram, Attaochu, and Te'o seem to only have one way to go at this point in their careers. [/QUOTE]

        Wow.

Most people have said that the team was a 3 year rebuild with Tommy T having his team in year 3.

So far there has been improvement at LG and Returner. With 4 spots on the OL needing improvement there has been 1. RB is a downgrade right now. WR is unknown. TE has the top 2 in the last year of their contract. DL, probably the biggest need other than pass rush has seen no improvement. LBs must be great to tell the best LB on last years team that his services are no longer needed. And the secondary is a wash.

And the franchise player says he won't sign an extension.

Tommy T's push year is off to a great start.

I can easily see the DL being addressed in the first round of this draft. It makes a lot of sense because getting stronger at the point of attack helps you the most. Make at least one big pick on the DL and we could be so much better on defense this year. Like a domino effect. And all we would need then is some good luck with our LBs health-wise. But we also need a to add another play-making LB somewhere. We need to add someone to push Butler. Even if it's a rookie.

Who was the last defensive line rookie to make a major impact?

I think the rams offense had something to do with that. Didn't they lose their QB to begin the season? Donald had nine sacks as a rookie DL. That's an impact to me. Big impact. He was obviously getting upfield and making plays. I'm sure his "tackles for loss" plays are substantial as well (tackling RB's for a loss). At least it seems like it would be if he's getting sacks.

I guess I am the only person that remembers how well the Bolts played when they had some what of a full deck to play with? Since when is a roster even close to being rounded out in frickin' March???? Some people on this board and the SD media are like spoiled little kids that didn't get what they wanted for Christmas.

We have signed the top LT, OG, and top 3 CB in FA. People can say " but Flowers and Dunlop were already here". Tell that to teams that were UNABLE to sign their own FA. We added a helluva OG. We need some additional playmakers....which some are pissed we did not get in FA at this point. we took at run at some guys, and didn't get them. It happens to every team. The early days of FA are when crazy stupid signings happen....several of those signings are next year's salary cap casualties....same shit every year. I am pleased who we got and at the contracts we got them. The offseason is only a few weeks old for Chrissakes!

I would really like to hear what the morons in the SD media would have liked to have done differently in a relatively weak FA year.....even if it were possible, which they fail to realize is often not the case. This isn't fantasy frickin' football....you don't always get who you want. Personally, I think we have dione well so far this offseason, and I will patiently wait further moves.

So, for a major impact defensive lineman the bolts will just need to move up in the draft to pick someone that doesn't really help their standings

So your promise is not "who was the last rookie DL to make a major impact", but rather "which rookie DL was the last to turn around a franchise, including play QB and score." Understood.
