Our O line is massively improved ( still no depth though) and we get DJ back on defense( which will most certainly help) so we should have better overall results.

Finishing .500 or better would be an improvement.
    Yeah, but....

Fixing the special teams alone would have swung 2 or 3 games our way so we'd really ended up 5-11 or 6-10!

Just had a thought. What about making Forrest Merrill an o-lineman? With all that power (his dead-lifting and benching) he could pancake a lot of d-linemen as a guard. He wouldn't have to have great range if he were a guard. If we found Kris Dielman's second coming wouldn't that be groovy?

What a storyline and what a way to enter the NFL! Rashawn Slater vs Chase Young: Rd2.

        So pumped!! #boltup
Going to be an exiting battle to watch. imho Young should have an advantage as he's got successful NFL level experience under his belt. Young has faced against NFL competition plus will be heavily motivated to introduce Slater/rookie into the NFL. If Slater once again shuts down Young I will be thoroughly impressed.

I disagree. The Raiders were 7-6, one game behind the Dolphins for the #7 playoff spot and they played the Dolphins the week after they played us. Heading into the game with us, they were very much still alive for a potential playoff spot.

There was talk of Matt Ryan being replaced, so he still cared even if his team was not doing well.

Our last 3 games were against division rivals. While you can fairly note that KC did not play some of its starters (versus some of ours just being injured), you cannot reasonably say that our division rivals did not care about who won those games against us.

Also, we should have won at least 4 of the 5 games against the playoff teams that we played (KCX2, NO, TB, BUF).

KC just wanted to stay healthy. Atl, LV & Den were better at sucking for high draft picks. Bastages!
.500 will be a piece of cake if STs is avg or better.
Improved OL , Defense & STs should get us into 10-11 W range.

Merrill is worth a roster spot if he can give us some short yardage stops, force throws when they want to keep it in the ground.
...Or block for our 4th & goal carry.
I'm interested to see if Staley finds a spot for him..

                    At 6' 0" & 322 lbs with 32" arms & 9 1/4" hands, Merrill has the measurables of a Center. A 2nd coming would indeed be groovy.

Week 1 (W) Both defenses are good. Will Derwin make it through TC? If so, Fitztragic will have fitz.

Week 2 (W) Dallas defense is always a mess.

Week 3 (L) Will the offense be clicking by week 3? Have to outscore the Chiefs.

Week 4 (W) Gus' picket fence allows Herbert into the pasture to graze.

Week 5 (W) Staley's new run defense puts the load on Mayfield. Herbert > Mayfield. Nail-biter.

Week 6 (L) Another nail-biter. Advantage goes to the home team.

Week 8 (W) No more Brady. BB hates defending Lombardi's offense.

Week 9 (W) Herbert > Hurts. Chargers better than Eagles at almost every position.

Week 10 (W) Vikings drafted lots of Nutty's favorites (Darrisaw, Surratt, Jones II, Robinson...) But still, Herbert > Cousins. We will we have a home field advantage this year...? Nail-biter.

Week 11 (W) Will Big Ben fade into retirement...? Will that defense miss Dupree...?

                      Week 12 (W) Donkeys still have a sub-par QB.

Week 13 (W) Did they really not rebuild the IOL...? Burrow rehabbing from his 2nd knee surgery.

Week 14 (W) Chargers complete their sweep of weak NFC East opponents.

Week 15 (W) The offense is clicking by now. Bosa abuses Remmers enough times to win.

Week 16 (W) With Deshawn's trial in full swing, Tyrod finally gets his chance to start @ Sofi. Bloodbath.

                      Week 17 (W) Sweep complete.

                      Week 18 (W) Sweep complete.

15-2 is a total homer prediction. But Nutty likes OL. Hence, the optimism. Plus, Nutty has promised Roo a Super Bowl ring. Home field is needed. 15-2 does that.

I think he has the measurables for being a camp fodder IDL. His lack of lateral movement makes a transition to offensive center very difficult to envision. His lack of lateral movement and quickness make him a bad fit for Staley's D.

Me: Honey I wonder what kind of ass JH is pulling in at his place.

Wife: Why are you concerned about the type of ass JH pulls in at his place. Aren't I enough ass for you ?

As to the concern of him being Covid safe while pulling all that ass, ... this would be a perfectly good week for him to go and get some Covid and ass.
