I'm sure Staley is well versed in the Wilson game on a pro level so we should be fine on defense moving forward.

As far as mahomes, he will likely drop off a bit, then have hige games, just to choke in the playoffs again.
Staley was DC for one season for the Rams in 2020. His defense faced Russell Wilson 3 times, including the playoffs.

In the first game, which the Rams won 23-16, Wilson was 22/37 for248 yds, 0 TDs, 2 INTs. Wilson also ran for 60 yds on 8 carries. The Rams sacked Wilson 6 times; Leonard Floyd had 3 of them.

In the second game, which the Seahawks won 20-9, Wilson was 20/32 for 225 yds, 1 TD, 0 INTs. Wilson also ran for 9 yds on 3 carries and scored once. The Rams sacked Wilson 5 times, including one by Joseph-Day.

In the playoff game, in Seattle, which the Rams won 30-20, Wilson was 11/27 for 174 yds, 2 TDs, 1 INT. Wilson also had 50 yds rushing on 4 carries. The Rams sacked Russell 5 times, two each for Donald and Floyd. The Rams' Darious Williams picked off Russell and returned 42 yds for a score.

Staley's defense sacked Wilson at total of 16 times in three games.

Yes but the league sacked him 47 times that year. 48 the year before, 51 the year before that. He is always among the highest sacked QBs because he holds the ball too long.
In 11 seasons he has been sacked 427 times and probably scrambled out of many more.

You'd think he'd move to a division with poor pass rushers.

Let’s do the math. In 14 games not against the Rams, Wilson was sacked 36 times in 2020. That’s an average of 2.57 sacks per game, in games not against Staley’s Rams’ defense. Staley’s defense sacked Wilson an average of 5.33 times per game over three games, twice as many sacks per game than the other defenses Wilson faced in 2020.

Ok, im.just saying he gets sacked alot. He was sacked more the 2 years prior when Staley wasn't a DC. No idea who sacked him the most.

I hope we sack him 6.times in each game,.he throws a pic 6 in each game and fumbles 3 times in each game against us.

Wilson is better than any QB they’ve had lately. Makes them that much more dangerous IMO. Be nice to at least split with them again, hoping we crush them in both games but we ain’t proven we’re there yet.

Agree.... how many times have we seen DEN receivers running wide open against Chargers only to be saved by horrible throws by bad QB's.....???...... unfortunately too many times and Wilson will not miss those guys..... that is why adding another good CB in FA or draft is essential ...we need at least 4or 5 good CB's, and Im not impressed with Davis, who needs to get alot more consistent.........

Which is why I THINK we MIGHT be getting him in this division at the right time. I wouldn't be surprised if he looks like Donovan McNabb did in Washington and Minnesota. Of course, Russell keeps himself in better shape than McNabb did. I just think Carroll knows Wilson is beat up and his best days are behind him.

We seem to play like morons against Denver at least once a year, for some reason.

Chandler Jones sacked Russell Wilson 16.5 times in his career. Good thing Wilson moved to a different division............oh wait LOL

I’m more scared of the dumpster fires we have behind Davis…who played waaaaay too much for us last year.

Wilson is probably not the ideal QB for the Packers/Rams/49ers Shanahan/LaFleur/McVay offense they are going to run. But if the choice is the less than ideal Wilson, or the other Denver QB ... it's pretty easy choice.

The Seahawks did try to change Wilson, into a West Coast style, rhythm passer who gets rid of the ball and it never really took. It will be interesting to see if they try to change him again, or just give up and go more play-action, boots and waggles, deep drop passing that doesn't require him to change his game.
