Maybe. But if there was a better OT then I’m sure Staley and Lombardi would have said something. Anyways, Norton seemed to have hold up well in the 2nd half according to Popper. I’m not saying he’s the future. But he could be a decent placeholder until we pick someone up in the first or second next year.

With Bulaga out, and Norton presumably coming in, what did you think of Norton’s performance on Sunday and what it means going forward? — @UltiimateLaxBro

Storm Norton will start Sunday’s game at right tackle, according to Staley. After watching the tape, I actually thought Norton played a fine game. He had one bad rep, and that came on Justin Herbert’s sack-fumble in the red zone. Norton was matched up with Montez Sweatand got beat badly off the edge one-on-one. But that was really his only glaringly bad rep in the game. He mostly held up otherwise and even effectively blocked Chase Young one-on-one in pass protection on multiple occasions. They will need to give Norton help, even with the Cowboys injuries on the edge. DeMarcus Lawrence landed on IR with a broken foot, and Randy Gregory remains on the reserve/COVID-19 list. The Chargers will need to chip on Norton’s side with running backs and tight ends. They did plenty of that against Washington after Norton replaced Bulaga for the second half.

To that I say mission accomplished!

If Feiler is truly a better tackle than guard, then it should be a no-brainer. Jaimes to LG, and Scho is guard depth. That was the plan in training camp, right?
Maybe the plan of some fans/posters but not the team’s plan.
Feiler has received no reps at OT with us.
It’s Norton up next and Pip as OT4. If Pip fails then probably Feiler or a FA. Schofield will be our inactive OL9.

Bulaga cant stay healthy with full off season rest. I doubt 4-5 weeks will magically heal him but i have been wrong before.

Norton at RT was ok and look for more improvement.

            There's been more than two...

            Fluker - mild bust
            Gaither - megabust
            Franklin - mild bust
Turner - injury and mild bust
            Bulaga - injury bust

On the bright side, looks like Lindsley, Feiler, Aboushi and Slater are working out well...

When you have 4 solid guys you can help out the 5th.

When you have no solid guys everyone is in trouble and you can't help everywhere.

Slide protection, chips, and occasional double team help to Storm.
We should have pretty good success on the ground and destroy them with our aerial attack.
I’ll be surprised if we don’t score at least 35 points.

Gaither was an AJ Smith bust- one that I, and most of us on the old board, agreed with at the time, iirc.

He played well until literally the morning he got his extension. He didnt play a single good play after he signed it.

                      Exactly.
How many rookie Olinemen do we want ?
TT is cognizant of the Oline elephant in the room.
Morgan Moses, off the top of my head, just signed with NYJ.
He does not fit our scheme.
We do not play modern football.

Schofield is a decent option for depth.
Usually stays healthy. Can play RG or RT.
                        He has starting experience.
In 2019 for Chargers he started 16 games, and he was graded as one of the better pass protectors at guard that year credited with allowing just a half of a sack and 1 penalty. But his run block grade was one of the worst in the league.

Not sure they could have done much better than him for OL depth and talent until next off season.
Who has it better than us?

Yep, the "Big Lazy", what a disappointment he was.
