My first post since before gameday.

Overall, greatly disappointed in the result. I really thought we were the better team, and should have won that game easily, but were let down by sloppy play and the knack the Chargers have of finding ways to lose. This is Staley's wakeup call...honeymoon over, let's see how he responds when he doesn't get to be the giddy "I love everything football" coach...it will be interesting.

The only thing I can take away from this on the positive side is that all the tools and players are there for a winning season. Sure, we got a few chinks in the armor...run defense, tackling, RT position...but they can all be corrected and/or compensated for. Herbert is a beast, and although he is gonna throw the occasional pick, he is mostly money. But we have to play cleaner on both sides of the ball, and we gotta friggin tackle.

This is a pretty decent team, potentially really good...but they definitely need a boot up the ass...let's see how Staley handles it.

I can't think of one bomb period that Herbert has thrown to anyone. Johnson would have been useless the first two games.

There were bombs thrown. Just that half of them were called back.

The Chargers defense is mostly completely healthy and yet gave up 100+ rushing yards to Washington last week and now 200+ rushing yards to Dallas this week.

And we have teams like Ravens, Browns and Patriots all coming up and they love to run the ball…

They had long pass plays - none like last year with Herbert dropping back, setting and throwing to a guy trying to outrace a corner on a fly pattern
Most times they went downfield when Herbert rolled to his right and the receiver was standing in an opening.

Definitely rigged just like everything else.

Honeymoon’s over. Dallas came out faster and more physical going up 14-3 early. Red zone woes continue and getting worse. Run defense non existent. Run offense equally anemic. Opie, get it together.
