I think it was Gary Player who said you have to fall in love with the course, especially a tough one or you are going to fail.
Forget it Donny you're out of your element

    Shut the fuck up Donny

I think they have said that this course plays more like a links style. I'm hearing that the players are complaining that the fairways are really hard. Could make the short game a little tougher if its tough to get a divot with your wedges.
Phil is having a good day, -3 through 11. Rooting for him to get this one. I like Richie too, just hate the orange pants. But I play Calaway Irons and Cobra woods, hybrids and wedges and since they are both fairly local (Richie is a Temecula kid) I pull for them both as well.

Great to know because the front 9 screwed me yesterday.

When I was a distance runner I used to like racing when it was hot because so many of my competitors would be complaining about it. I always wrote those guys off my list.

IIRC wasn't Mickelson involved in some of the design of this course?

Not that I am aware of. I have read quite a bit about the course, and never a mention, nor has my friend brought it up when speaking with him about the course. Could be that Robert Trent Jones JR. asked some players, but since many guys get in to course design, I don't know that a "competitor" would have much input.

I guess my confusion was that Phil tried to buy the land where the course is but got outbid for it. He said his vision was nothing like what it turned out to be but he has been pretty positive about it.

Tiger + 10, he's a mess , the greens look horrible, the breaks/undulations are cool though

Right now I think Spieth and Day are sitting pretty good. I didn't get a chance to see DJ play but he goes in the afternoon today. For just being a kid Spieth shows a lot of composure out there and he's paired up with Day again today, they seem to like playing together.

Yeah, I like both of them, and Speith is very composed....big improvement over last season when he could lose it at times. The guys I picked were all >30:1 odds when I bet them although Day's odds closed at 26:1.

I am thrilled any time Tiger is doing shitty. The PGA/media ride his sack even worse than the NFL/media rides Peyton Manning's. So whenever Tiger is struggling it makes me happy knowing that the coverage will begrudgingly have to show the rest of the golfers.
