I think Speith is the favorite today, DJ has a chance too but I think he'll fold with the pressure, I don't think Day can hold up physically
Look for Oosthuizen to challenge, he's a grinder
Did Brandon Grace make a mistake letting DJ finish up his putt at 18 yesterday? He could have been in the final pairing if he holes out first.Forget it Donny you're out of your element

Being that this course lies along the puget sound, I'm sure water isn't an issue.
The scores are indicative that the course played US Openesque.

Adam Scott shot a 64 today so the course wasn't as "impossible" as some made it out to beForget it Donny you're out of your element

Although there are some gimmicky aspects, the complaint is not that the course was too tough etc. The complaint from the fans was that it was a terrible venue for spectators. Part of the back side of the course was deemed too dangerous for spectators and the terrain on many other holes forced the spectators to be so far back from the action.
As to the golf. No tournament, let alone a National Championship should be played on greens of that calibre. Of course the greens should b fast and challenging. However, you should be rewarded for reading a green correctly and hitting the put with the correct pace along the chosen line. That was definitely not the case here. They can deal with speed, and slope, but a five to ten foot put should role "true" not be a coin toss. The entire field, said publicly or not, were completely disgusted with the greens. I happen to know this for a fact, like I said before, as my friend's brother is the agronomist for the course (maybe not for long). The greens were not ready for major championship golf. In addition, I would add that the Pacific NW be in play for PGA championships, but not the US Open as it is too early in the season and it is a crap shoot if the course can be ready for play.
I very much disagree with how Horschel handled himself. However his point, and that if the majority of players is a valid one. This isn't the Hoboken Open, it is the US Open, and those greens were embarrassingly in bad condition. I hate Poulter with a passion, but look at a ground level view of these greens......embarrassing for a $30 public course, let alone a U.S. open.

If I paid to play that course, the greens would make me ask for a refund. Yes there were some good rounds etc. however, even a guy like Els, a well respected, non whiny bitch said they were the worst greens he had ever played on. the winner Speith is one of the best putters in the world, and had 35 puts today. The reason wasn't the slope, or speed, but the fact that the ball (outside of the 3 greens that were re-laid) did Not give a true role.
That being said, I like Speith a lot, and there was great drama today.Last edited by Panamamike; 06-22-2015, 03:04 AM.

I think most U.S. Open courses have poa greens, I'm not sure that's the issue, Torrey does and they are great greens
Maybe they could have sewn in a little bent and smoothed them out but do we want the U.S. Open champ coming in at 15 under??Forget it Donny you're out of your element
