    Neither do I.

1500 non sold seats does not a blackout make. The problem is much bigger than the crappy obstructed seats in a relic that is crumbling.

Oh yeah, like that would happen in L.A.

They don't care who's butts are in the seats. But if they want it all Chargers fans, how about creating a culture that centers around winning?

You know, the Patriots didn't sell out in the mid 90's either. The steelers prior to their superbowls were also not supported so well. None of those fanbases were endowed with any special fandom qualities, they simply coalesced around a winner. After the fact, they change the narrative that so and so team's fans are just great, but when you get right down to it, they're all bandwagoner fanbases.

It does when your owner refuses to use the 85% guideline instead of 100%.

And yes, the problem is much bigger.

Much understanding of the 85% was not that it applies to the blackout, but how much revenue is shared to the visiting team. I could be wrong though.

My bad. I guess that means that between 85 % and 100 percent if they use the floor they have to pay additional on the gate.

Black-outs are Black-outs. How many since the Spani first put the City on notice that a new stadium was needed for the team to stay competitive with the market. The Spani first started grumbling for a stadium what...14 year ago? 12? Let's say it was 2001, the year they drafted LT and Brees. Since then, 5 division Championships, 6 playoff appearances, 1 AFC Championship appearance. A few more of those years they were in the playoff hunt into the last week of the season. Since, '01 they are 127-98 in the regular season (and thats with too many years of NOrv!) and 4-6 in the playoffs. That's winning football. It may not be Championship football, but it is competitive, winning football. The City and fans couldn't get behind that? Mayor Faulconer and his task force are years too late. Good try, but too late.

You can buy into the media spin, regurgitate everything they're telling you, and blame it all on the Spani, but the fact is they gave SD every opportunity over multiple years to come up with a solution and they were ignored. If the team moves, the City and its citizens have no one to blame but themselves. Own it SD.

You're ignoring the whole story, but that's ok. The Spanos Chargers needs fans like you.

The Spanos gave the city every opportunity to hand over 250 million to 3/4 BILLION dollars of taxpayer money to build their asses a stadium ...... Gee I wonder why the city didn't jump all over that

A good deal of those 14 years, things couldn't get done because of mayors coming and going every year and the recession and the pension crisis. The only real proposal the Chargers put forward was ten years ago. Why are they acting like brats now? I still think it's all posturing but if it's not and they leave now, it's on them. They're not even trying to cooperate with a mayor that's finally willing to really work on this.

Not to say the Chargers are the only ones to blame but "the City and its citizens have no one to blame but themsleves."? Are you kidding me? Don't spew that Fabiani crap.

Agree with mako, 14 years of excuses is a tough one to ignore, especially when other teams (with lesser records!) in other cities (with their own money problems) got new stadiums.
