But these people are not the fans that you are referring to that the Chargers need to spend money on PSLs, tickets, concessions, parking, etc.
Totally agree. In fact, I find it kind of interesting that people who live in other cities actually root for the Chargers, unless they have some connection to SAN DIEGO in the their past. For example, I can't imagine rooting for the Giants or Jets, even though I *WAS* a Giant's fan growing up. Once I left NY and made San Diego my home, this is where I started growing new roots, complete with rooting for the local team(s).

But to each his/her own. But rooting for a team in LA - or any other city - is not something I am going to do.

To me it makes no sense for San Diegans to root for the team if it moves to LA, unless you have some connection to LA (you're originally from there or your family lives there, etc.) It doesn't matter to me that they're "only" 100 miles up the road. They might as well be moving to South Africa since I have no connection with LA at all.

Otherwise, you might as well choose some random team to root for like the Bengals or Texans. Maybe that's what I'll wind up doing (I refuse to root for a Spanos owned team if he decides to leave since he could care less about our fine city) or I'll just become one of those annoying fantasy football geeks who only cares about individual players and not teams, but more likely, I'll probably just stop watching the NFL since they're the one orchestrating all of this crap with their never-ending greed.

I said no just because it was therapeutic. But i will. I love the players not the owners. And my blood is blue and gold.

We would however have to add the rest of the LA teams to our other forums. Angels/Dodgers and Lakers. Just to be a full service forum. lol

I placed bold on the only correct option.

For me, it's a different question. That question is, "if the Chargers move to LA, will you still be an NFL fan?" I am so sick and tired of the NFL and its greedy bullshit, holding cities and the fans hostage, and all the other stuff they screw up on an annual basis, that I am starting to move on mentally and emotionally from NFL football. So, to the extent that I would even be an NFL fan, I would still favor the Chargers over any other team, LA or no LA. Changing allegiance to another team would be out of the question and a waste of time.

Are you talking for the short term, with all the players who have a connection to the San Diego Chargers? What about ten years from now when all the players on the team would be all drafted as LA Chargers?

If it's really all about the players, then why not just root for individual players and not the teams, since the teams represent the cities that they are in? Maybe fantasy football is the way to go.

To me it all depends how it plays out, at the moment the way the ownership is treating its fans like dogsh*t, it's a hell no... But if it goes through the polls, and they actually try to stay but still can't get a stadium deal here, then I might stick around.... Unless they share a stadium with the raiders of course.

I've never even been to San Diego, and I can't answer the question. I honestly do not know. I suspect not. My original team was ripped from my city and I'm not a fan of that team or the replacement team. I think I just answered the question. Fvck the NFL. No. And not a fan of any other team either.
