Staley said this defense should have knock that down. I can only assume he thought his players should have shook their block and took better angles.
It look like Murray create the space to cut into by going wide to outside of his blocker instead of into his chest and then scraping toward the runner. I'm not sure how he is supposed to play it.
Did Tillery play his assignment correctly.
Should he have push into blocker chest and then look to shed to get to the draw or go get the QB if it was a play fake. I don't know what his assignment was supposed to be on this play.
but again, Staley said they were in a defense shell that should knock that down. So who and how does it get knocked down. At face value, I'm thinking Murray and Tillery got themselves out of position to make any useful play and opened the door wide for the RB to get this first down.
Who has it better than us?

Probably our biggest problem last night was tackling. Jacobs had so much yardage after contact. We missed Tranquill.
The needle now points to Devon Lloyd or Nakobe Dean at #17. We have fatties. Vita Vea is not on the board. There will be no 1Tech this early for LAC. It's all Outside Zone, Bubbles, Sweeps these days.We do not play modern football.

I'm sure it needs no pointing out (but that's what I do best)
but Staley cut his teeth defensively coaching linebackers.
Making the K9 situation even more perplexing.
K9 has all the physical tools and now an expert linebackers coach, olb granted but still
If K9 stays I'm sure it's because Staley thinks he can salvage something, but I wouldn't be surprised if K9 is truly a BIPLast edited by 21&500; 01-10-2022, 11:01 PM.Gimmie Bower Power!!

We stopped him for 2.
:anchorjump:
He is great a breaking tackles 6th since drafted.
Does that yac number say Staley scheme put his player in the right spots to knock down what the Raiders we're trying to get done, but they were not good enough to execute it.

he took a back seat strategically in his first year and allowed Telesco to use resources build the Oline, which was smart to protect number 10
Staley took the job knowing he would have to make chicken salad outta CS
But with all this cap, and a full slate of picks plus 2
He has to be (and likely will be) given a chance to sign a few vets and draft a true play maker like Lloyd or Dean.
I also want to throw in that CB McCreary
film watch begins this week for meGimmie Bower Power!!
