So if Justin Jones walks the only Day 2 Telesco picks to get new deals with the Chargers (not counting the tag) are Keenan Allen and Denzel Perryman right? Day 3 would be...is it zero? Have only TWO players on Days 2 and 3 earned new deals with the Chargers since 2013???

I think the Chargers will bring back Jones as he should be a pretty reasonable option at DT. But again, those rounds 2-4 have not been his strong suit

But if Jones isn't back -- hopefully they upgrade.

No day 3 isn’t necessarily a problem. If they make it big elsewhere, then we can a nice comp pic and reload. It’s the Day 2 not staying that’s annoying.

Day 2, 2 for 18 +/- in 9 years
Day 3, 0 for 36 in 9 years.

Randomly hitting on 10%, we’d have resigned 5 out of 54. This is just a horrendous job of draft, train, resign.

Its no wonder we go nowhere.

I hear talks about @chargers looking at fletcher cox. I’m in 100% favor of this move. He is one of the best in the business.

The 2013-2015 drafts were pretty much stinkers outside of Allen. 2017 and 2018 drafts are the ones coming up for contracts recently and we are often choosing to look elsewhere. That's fine, we did just go through a coaching change and our own FAs aren't cheaper than other FAs. NE overpaid for Henry. Lynn ran Desmond King off the team. Etc.

2008-2012 draft classes were really bad.

We do have several players still in the league but on other teams and recent draft classes have done more on their rookie deals.

I think people are over estimating how many players are resigned league wide.

Put another way, 9 Chargers day 3 draft picks from 2013-2018 are still in the NFL.

We would spend less in FA, yes. The first two days are the more crucial ones to keep. The third day is always hit or miss. We have kept more UDFA though like Davis and Ekeler.
