composite board (work in progress atm) looks something like this.... after trade down w/Az

              023) OG Zion Johnson
              079) ED DeAngelo Malone
              087) TE Cade Otton, PT Matt Araiza

              123)
              160) RB Tyler Badie
              195) RB D’Vonte Price
              214) RB Zonovan Knight, WR Jalen Virgil, CB Jack Jones, LB D’Marco Jackson
              236) SS Dane Belton, DE Demetrius Taylor, NT Noah Elliss
              254) OT Vederian Lowe
              255)
              260)

looks like a trade down from 123 (w/Jax ?) would be helpful in gaining some 5/6/7 round draft capital (to bring in the remainder of the above day three players), and then we hold onto a 2023 third from Az ??

Neither do I understand the desperation for edge. Edge is not the biggest need outside of OG and OT. Backups for Bosa and Mack maybe. But the holes at the position isn't as bad as the other position groups.

Last year Bosa played 73% of snaps and looked gassed. In 2020 Mack played 83% of snaps but that is likely to go down. We have 3 roster worthy edges.

                  Yeah, it's a hole.

With mack’s foot injury there is no telling how much that will limit him, we have rumph, egbule, and the CFL guy davis as back ups…

…even if Mack was 100% I think it would still be a big need.

There isn’t a position group on this team besides QB and C that couldn’t use additional rotational talent and depth upgrade. That’s why predicting this draft in particular is so difficult. Focus areas in round 1 in my order of priority are: OT, OG, CB, Edge, WR. Wildcard could be a LB like Lloyd or Dean. I suspect we will draft at least 1 player from all of those, just a matter of when. I’m fine with BPA approach in round 1 even if it is a WR.

No doubt, we need EDGE depth. A deep EDGE class allows us to start looking in the 4th round.
I regularly get good depth @EDGE in the 5th round mocks.
Chris Rumph will be an option for rotation as well. I really liked Chris' tape @Duke.

Agree, but we also only have one good RB in Ekler so we need at least 2 good young backs that run with power to rotate with Ekler and Jackson...so we can cut Roundtree and Kelley.... we also need a good punter.... though I'm not saying to draft these in top 3 rounds.....
