I wonder how close to full strength Garrett was in that game. He still blew by Salyer a few times and the game plan protected him, but it was definitely another solid outing from Salyer. Another big test against the Broncos this week.

Garrett wasn't 100%, but was still dangerous. On paper, Garrett/Clowney might have be the best Edges that the Chargers face this season as a pair. I'd expect a little less pass catching production from the TE's for the next couple of games, but hopefully KA will be back to offset that.

Garrett is probably still sore, but he had a week or two off and was very fresh. His legs were not impacted by the accident. He is a beast. Salyer did about the best he could and the play calling was outstanding as far as neutralizing Garrett. Clowney was also super fresh and very motivated (which is not always the case). Our OL held up well and the game plan did what it was supposed to do. I agree that this is the best tandem we will face. And they are equally good against the run and pass.

If Salyer was drafted in the 1st round as a left tackle making his first starts in the NFL people would say he's living up to his billing and that position is set for the next decade. That's how good he's been.

2 starts and hasnt shown poorly at all for a rookie. Im more than pleasantly surprised he has not been a glaring weakness for a 6th rounder right? TT and team get an A+ on him so far….major value find that if he keeps this up and Pip keeps holding ground and Feiler continues to struggle in a contract year may give is a lot more options for next year or later this year if Slater can return and we make the playoffs.

This young man played another good game at LT vs. Denver. Excited to have him on the team!

The snaps this young man is getting this season are invaluable to his development.

Besides Gates and Ekeler who were undrafted free agents….Salyer might be the best value pick in a couple decades for the Chargers.

I believe that without Salyer we could quite possibly be 2-4 instead of 4-2. Love this kid he saved our asses. :larry:

                        Don’t forget Dielman and Sproles.

You’re right. Sorry I forgot them. Hmmmmm…. Makes you start wondering. Are Chargers better talent evaluators with undrafted free agents then 1st rounders?
