staley was quoted last year saying that the team vs team scrimmage was the most important part of his preseason schedule in regards to getting the veterans ready for the season…

He wouldn't be playing in the game if he'd been in camp all along, so i don't see them rushing him into action now.

Limited participation in vet scrimmages? Maybe. Maybe not.
He's in great shape for a recreational player. For an NFL Pro? Nope.

Based on this, I have realigned Van Noy as an ILB on my roster, rather than an edge rusher. This thins out the competition at edge while increasing competition at ILB:

Edge rusher (7): Joey Bosa, Khalil Mack, Chris Rumph II, Emeke Egbule, Jamal Davis, Ty Shelby, Carlo Kemp

Linebacker (9): Drue Tranquill, Kenneth Murray [once he returns from the PUP list], Kyle Van Noy, Troy Reeder, Amen Ogbongbemiga, Nick Niemann, Cole Christiansen, Damon Lloyd, Tyreek Maddox-Williams

DJ and his green dot are signed. Where is KVN rostered now? I'm guessing Van Noy will split time at Edge / ILB.

That was everyone's thinking, but Popper reports that Van Noy has been working exclusively inside, so I moved him from edge to ILB on the roster I keep for myself.

However, on the Chargers' first "unofficial" depth chart, released on August 9, Van Noy was listed as Bosa's backup. So who really knows?
