Not so much for the 'very good' category: a lot of those players need to prove it or stay healthy, something they've had trouble with.
Mike Davis had a down year ('21) has unquestioned speed and is playing the ball well.
Asante is a gifted CB who had concussion issues in '21. So far- no prob.
Callahan is a talent when healthy. He's healthy.
Nas is very good and improving.
Rumph has been a preseason star.
Bash & AJ have very good run grades, look solid in this D.
KVN is very good ILB or Edge with rings.
Tranquill is fast & smart at LB. Does get nicked.

He won’t get poached off waivers - too many better RBs will be cut. He is PS bound. I thought Fehoko won the backup spot, we’ll see.

As we look at the 53 roster projections by those 5 analysts, i hope all noticed just how few of the scrubs that were launchwhiffing all over the field are on it and how deep in the depth they are. Lets hope they develop faster than they are needed.
Close to lock that we add practice squad from other teams. Depth on our 53? Could happen but no better than 50/50.

Perhaps he will show us something this year. I'd be very concerned if the starting squad on defense doesn't show marked improvement with all the new additions, especially since defense is Stayley's expertise.

The bar on defense was set very low last year.
One day he'll have to give over the play-calling duties to Renaldo Hill. The same way Anthony Lynn gave over offensive play-calling to Shane Steichen. Staley has too much on his plate, and it's going to wear him out and cause stress. He'll train up Hill to be his eventual replacement.

I don't remember Lynn ever calling plays for us. Whiz called them until he got fired and then Steichen called them as interim and later as full time OC. Lynn did take over special teams when his buddy George was finally let go. And ironically, even without calling the plays, Lynn was an absolute mess on game management. Once of the worst I have ever seen. Almost juvenile.

Staley has what he wants on his plate. Weak areas will always get the coach's attention.
If you suspect that our D problems were due to Staley being over his head, meh?
              Let's see how 2022 goes.
I believe BS has a D system he wants to install, didn't have the right players and is still installing with improved talent. Once the base is in, there's still work to do, always, but his staff will handle a lot of it. He'll just control the focus, pull the strings.

Staley needs to do what Lynn did? I shudder at that example. Lynn is a great guy, solid RB coach. He was way over his depth as HC.

              ps: Lombardi calls the offense.

Before Steichen there was Ken Whisenhunt.

Yep...almost reminded me of some of the wacky things that used to happen on my son's T-ball games...

I think so too, unsticking this and sticking the Raider thread...

Murray is even faster, lets hope he puts the pieces together and applies that superior athleticism.

                          Tranquill ran a 4.57 according to nflcombineresults.com"
. Makes more sense, he sure don't look like a 4.4 out there. That's Mike Vick speed.
