The Phillies are another underdog story. They went from such a joke that they fired their manager. The very next day they started a run of wins (a few dry spells) that sees them on the verge of moving even further on into the playoffs. The Padres aren’t an underdog story in that sense, but they’re on the verge of taking 2 playoff series against teams that had a monstrous almost unstoppable season long run. Parody anyone?

Who pitches on Sunday if they can’t close it out tonight? Darvish again?

I’m a huge Bryce Harper fan even though a lot of people don’t like him. Dude goes hard on the bases and in the outfield and he rakes. Another Real Deal player IMO.

Staley needs to bring this up to the team if we lose to KC again.

I was thinking about how fun it would be to be a Philly fan this season with the Phillies and Eagles.
              we're not far behind.

Not sure what you mean by Parody. But in the playoffs almost anything can happen in a short series. The Dodgers beat the crap out of the division, but losing just one game at home loses the home field advantage. All those wins in the regular season by the expensive Dodgers mean nothing now, just hoping that the Pads can seal the deal and move on to the NLCS.

Its one reason i think the season of 162 games is too long. Or, the playoffs need to be 5 game series for wild cards and 7 the rest of the way.

The 1 game wildcard thing was freaking stupid imo. At least 3 is better but thats too many games during the regular season to have a small series determine who moves on.

Just trying to cover all bases. Especially since I didn’t think they would win yesterday with Snell.

Going to be cranked up even more tonight -- bats just need to score more runners as Dodgers won't continue to go oh fer 17 with RISP
                      Sad but true.
My hope is that a Padre world championship is enough to help SD excharger fans stop hating and embrace their true roles as Chargers fans and hop on back to experience and support an LA Chargers championship run.
If the Chargers win one before the Padres, SD fans will forever be resentful.

Just fantasizing about having my hometown be a Chargers/Padres town again.

Expanding the playoffs was nothing more than a stupid money grab by owners and the league. The best teams shouldn’t even have to deal with sudden upstarts who got in with a much less successful season and just happen to catch 111 win teams in a temp slump. It just waters down the whole idea of “the postseason.” The cream of the crop should play the cream of the crop after the regular season ends.
