I thought Sarell was poor in rush blocking and I don’t believe he only gave up one pressure. Both Pip and Norton will be ahead of him when cuts come imo. Idunno - I didn’t go back and study any tape, happy to be wrong.Justin Herbert 2026 MVP Watch

Maybe I’m wrong, but Bandy was the only receiver I saw last night that seemed to get consistent separation. And that goes a long way to getting a job in the NFL. I didn’t think he had a shot at the roster, but I do now. Next weeks game is big for him. Like Ekeler few year’s ago, some guys just force their way onto the squad.Originally posted by Fleet 1 View PostWhen Keenans time is up i hope he transitions into a WR coach. He just makes that WR room so much better. I really think he has a huge impact on guys like Palmer and Bandy. You see him working with them all the time. So worth the what he makes.
I absolutely love Bandy. Reminds me of Eddie Royal a little bit. Or Hunter Renfroe. You have to keep him.
I got the worst sleep ever last night. lol I went to bed so frustrated. Bolts and Padres have been producing this elevated heart rate for years now. lol
I’m also open to keeping 6 wr and 9 OL. Keep Sarell, cut Norton. Exhibition games count.
at minimum, Keenan should be a private coach after football. Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
Let’s win one for Mack.

Might be the WR version of Ekeler. I know years ago a 3rd year of PS eligibility was added. But im not certain what the newest CBA is in regards to it. We can protect him each week if hes on the practice squad. He has 2 years if i remember correctly. Brady probably eyeing the guy. lolOriginally posted by Formula 21 View Post

At LB, Tranquill, Murray, Van Noy, and Reeder are locks, then one of Ogbongbemiga, Niemann, and Christiansen. If you want to keep two then one DL has to go. (assuming 25/25 offense/defense and 10 DBs).

Jerry Tillery signed a 4 year, $11,422,158 contract with the Los Angeles Chargers, including a $6,327,024 signing bonus, $10,002,591 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $2,855,540. In 2022, Tillery will earn a base salary of $2,052,567, while carrying a cap hit of $3,634,323 and a dead cap value of $2,709,756.
can you afford to keep Gaziano over Tillery if both provide near equal production? Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Not weird, more typical fan over reaction/frustration. Run defense, special teams and poor tackle play back to back tends to sound some kind of negative expressions :wtf2:Originally posted by Boltjolt View Post
Those pining for Payton for next season, dont hold your breath. Staley isnt gong anywhere after 2 seasons. So weird the panic around here. Hardly any starters ....if nay have played and the sky is falling for some here.

I just worry more about the development or our depth than our starters. I get running chill camps to keep your starters healthy. They may start out slow but whatever. But our back ups look like T Ball....other teams like 10 year olds vs us. Why does this happen? Is TT not cutting it with his depth players? Is it coaching. Is it soft camps? It looks to be a trend and i think that is the concern. I know its preseason. Im not looking to can Staley right now. But if we miss the playoffs again? With this roster? Get ready for me to not be real happy about that. Ill say that right now just to prepare those of you who simply wont tolerate any criticism. Depth is critical to making it through a season. How many of those guys last night will make the roster? 15-20?
Maybe we should start putting our non starters on a separate field and let them crush each other. Run them harder if you have to. Maybe our approach to keeping the starters healthy should not apply for those trying to earn a spot.
Just feels like such a huge gap between our bottom 25 and top 25 or so. Again it may be they are just not getting enough play in camp. They look tired and not very good.
Maybe its time to rethink the way we do camp for the non starters. Most teams are out there letting their starters get really physical though. I think Staley really wanted to run a camp that was safe and will help us overcome our crazy injury curse. Understandable.
But with the guys fighting for spots...who cares. Let them eat. Let them get fit. Starting to wonder if its just the way we run camp. It might just be a balance issue.

I finished watching the first half…my initial assessment was a bit harsh on sarrell, he was better than I first thought despite playing out of position at LT, he did well considering he’s a RTOriginally posted by Formula 21 View PostSarrell may be trying out for the swing tackle spot. Since there is no backup RT spot on a team, it’s possible Pips or Norton may be let go if Sarrell is a decent LT/swing tackle backup. To my knowledge, neither Pips nor Norton has taken any snaps at LT this summer.
Sarrell had 1 pressure on 38 snaps last night. Not bad for a backup LT.
Okay so can’t believe I’m typing this but pipkins was solid, his teamwork with johnson was good they passed off pass rushers on at least two stunts seamlessly, almost looked like they’d been doing it for a while together…right now in my humble opinion oipkins is head and shoulders better than norton, it’s not even close anymore…
jaimes was steady but looks like PS squad depth piece, hunter was awful yesterday, salyer has clearly established himself as the third guard on the depth chart
clapp was better than last week, he’s a servicable back-up center with some guard flex, I think he makes jaimes expendable…
both norton and bailey were awful, norton lucked out that some of his worst plays were nullified by penalties otherwise his grade would be even worse,…IMO norton was the worse offensive lineman in the first half of the game yesterday, I still have to watch the second half…
right now I have the chargers starting slater, fieler, linsey, johnson, and pipkins……the swing tackle is sarrell, with slayer, and clapp filling out the interior….jaimes, goes to the PS the chargers finding better players than hunter and bailey to fill roster squad spots, norton is gone, he’s done as a charger IMO, he was awful…"The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. Chargers seem to always run a “country club” training camp. September is when they seem to finally get down to business.
