If he ran a 4.2 he would have gone in the 1st or 2nd round and we would be using him for return duty.
fouts said that in the ram game too, IDK why, the only explanation I have is that he’s old and working off of bad handwritten notes he wrote himself. Either that or his production team is a bunch of incompetent people, IDK, maybe it’s some kind of joke, that kind of speed is super rare and Fouts would know that from experience, anyone can tell that spiller has avg speed for a RB, his real value lies in his size, vision, blocking, and hands…

The Tillery hate is at the point that it's ridiculous. He's a first round pick, so I guess there's that. Also, BS needs to stop the BS. It doesn't help that Staley plays with light boxes on D during times when they are not appropriate. And he should consider carrying 6 DLs instead of 5. That's one overlooked thing that contributed to a really bad defense. Staley has to use Tillery better and manage the DL better.

I finished watching the second half of the game and bailey was awful, norton played a little and really stunk it up too, hunter continued to struggle, jaimes had some bad reps too, he got thrown like a rag doll a few times, I’m not sire jaimes has the functional strength to play inside in the pros, I saw him give up a lot of ground causing pressure on the QB…saluer I thought was really good, he had a few breakdowns but he doesn’t get overpowered which is encourafing for his future, sarrell played a better second half than first half…they brought in another guy that only played about 4-6 snaps #65, I have no idea who he is, he might be the hunt? The chargers signed someone just last week when weaver got hurt, if it was hunt, he didn’t look good…

on defense #38 a DB kept popping up just taking bad angles and missing tackles badly, I’m not sure who he is but he cost the chargers an interception in the end zone last week against the rams, he looks like early cut material…

I’m going to reserve judgment on the defensive approach until I see it play out in the regular season with the new players he wanted…but yes, carrying 5 DL because you want to keep four RBs is not good roster management, (especially considering the RBs on the team), neither is keeping 3 QBs but they’re doing it again this season, it’s frustrating for sure…

Yep...#38 is CB Brandon Sebastian, and yes, he had some bad coverage and whiffs...another was Leonard--an awful launch and whiff to help allow Turpin score his second kick return to the house, along with other poor play...these two players alone are high up on the cut list unless one or both suddenly improve in our last PS game...

can you afford to keep Gaziano over Tillery if both provide near equal production?
I think its pretty much a wash. A little dead money to Dean’s pocket, thats about it?

Gaziano outproduced Tillery as a pass rusher on only 5 total pass rushing snaps last night. Tillery had more missed tackles (2) than actual tackles last night (1). Tillery is one of the worst run defenders in the entire league by pretty much any metric you can choose to name. As a pass rusher he is still below league average by almost every metric. You can say the hate is ridiculous but if Tillery was anything other than a former 1st rounder there would be no question about him getting cut.

I agree that we should carry 6 IDL this year, but the light boxes aren’t going to change. If anything you will see more this year since our 4 man front players this year are all more than capable run defenders whereas last year Staley had to keep 3 IDL on the field to even have a hope of stopping the run.

Is it so much to expect players to know basic fundamentals coming into this? Where have they been? Some of them look like they haven't played a down of football in their f-ing lives. Sorry if I expect them to know how to play football. How to catch a pass. How to tackle. Basic skills. To me, it's a reflection of our GM. But we've had this discussion plenty of times before. When we start having injuries and expect these guys to come off the bench and not have a huge fall-off in results, maybe some others here will get it. Yet again. Every. Freaking. Year. We. See. This. Pattern.

                  I'm done now.
I think most of the key guys launchwhiffing or crashing lanes and not holding their line on those two TDs wont’ be on the roster in another 9 days. I’m honestly not too worried about it.

the problem with developing players in the modern NFL is the NFLPA negotiated actual football, out of training camp. Its hard to coach up tackling when you’re not allowed to have your guys tackle in practice. Its going to take new techniques and coaching skills … not sure we’re there as a coaching society.

Feel the burn coach, love ya.
Arent we generating the Peyton rumors right here in TPB? Peyton ain’t coming to LA ever is my bet.

Fouts is mistaken. Wildly so. Spiller is not a 4.2, he’s not even a 4.4. He might be a 4.5 with a tailwind.

The OL was a hot mess after Zion and Pipkins retired for the evening. When EVERY RB averages in the 2’s, maybe its not just the RBs. I saw Jaimes getting tossed around too. I didn’t thinl Salyer had a great game, he was better than the guys that came later though. Norton fell so far behind in the RT competition, imo its over. confess i was pulling for Pipkins all summer, i just think he has better tools. Zion and Pipkins seemed to have good chemistry together working as a pair. And Pipkins was downfield hunting for work every rush play, he was the guy that escorted Palmer to the end zone on the WR screen TD. He didn’t pancake anyone on the way there but he was in the way and he was trying. He’s on a mission it appears, I’m comfortable he can play starting RT well enough to let Herb and Co make enough plays to score points.

Peyton said LAC, MIA, and DAL were his top 3 destinations if he was to return as a coach. So that’s the source of the rumors but anyone thinking he’s going anywhere other than DAL is dreaming.
