Sofi was 4-5 times more expensive comparing to the stadium from the link.

Both were built approx same time so...
They have a tray system, like Vegas and Glendale. Sofi's field is greater than 100 feet below ground level, making trays very difficult.

There is more durable grass. Pittsburgh went to a more durable grass because when it rained the field got tore up. I forget the name of it. I read it in an article a few years or so back. I'm sure it's Googleable lol.
Their owner cares about his players.

Gee, who would have thought that the surface THE PLAYERS PLAY ON would matter.

After that rash of injuries in the Bolts-Seahags game, Kroenke should burn that artificial turf and install natural grass...before the rest of the team gets injured...this is ridiculous...

Pete Carroll called for the NFL to study the injuries on turf b natural grass after Sunday’s game. DK Metcalf and JC Jackson both went down with non contact injuries. DK’s was minor but JC is out for the season at least. Apparently, they studied injuries between 2012 and 2018 before and found 28% more on synthetic turf.

riidiculous that Kroenke would spend $5B and not have natural grass in LA

Look up Matrix Turf. Everything you need to know about the So-Fi field.

                    Agreed.
                    1000%.
Some players call SoFi turf "slippery and hard."
That's not far from "fuzzy cement," as Hank Stram used to call Astroturf.

It's crazy to me that in 2022, the age of total revenues, franchises and stadiums that are worth/costs in the multiple billions and player contracts approaching 1/3 of a billion that more research has not been put into the playing surface? What? You would think with the cutting edge technology used in this sport, it would be able to figure out some quantifiable tendencies?

Well, maybe not as it is league that still uses old men carrying two poles attached by a chain to determine the most consequential aspect of the game...so...

LOL. My college roommate has been on the chaingang for the SF 49ers at home games for a long time.

It's good work if you can find it...pays well.

                          Do it, Kroenke.
                          A natural grass tray.
                          That goes up and down.
                          And sideways.
