If they could have and didn't - another fail by this front office
It was reported we had teams inquire about his availability, but never received an actual offer.

Yep, they aren't good at acquiring players or pics via trades. I was actually surprised they spent a second round of pick to acquire Mack. Obviously Staley's influence.

I wanted to trade Tillery in the off season. And I'll be wanting to do that in the next off season with Murray.

The effort was better, but not the results. The run D is still bad. I get that the 49ers run game is really good, but the yards allowed is still really bad. Covington has run stopping ability, but he has his shortcomings, and the team can do better than him. Otito Ogbonnia is going to take time to develop, and he's just so-so right now. Breiden Fehoko is okay, but I do think he can get better, and seems like a good character and locker room guy.

After halfway through the season, it is evident that linebacker is a big weakness. Murray and Tranquil are a liability in the run. Same for Van Noy. The DL isn't that good and James is the only one in the secondary who is good in run support. The run defense was bad with or without Tillery. The team doesn't have a good pass rusher on the interior/DL aside from Morgan Fox. This is where losing Tillery hurts. Most of the guys on the interior, other than Fox, don't have much pass rush ability. Maybe Joe Gaziano would help provide one, but he is buried on the practice squad. The team has a hard time getting off the field on third down in part because of this.

Murray is a lot better than Tillery. He played like a champ last night.

That was his best game as a pro imo

KA gets a pass for a tight leg and Murray haters want to eject him after sucking last year for a foot injury "Requiring Surgery!".

I think people want to eject Murray for general suckage. Allen has a proven track record of being one of the best route running receivers in the league the past 5 years so he gets slack.

I feel like this can only be a good thing is. Plus I think we get some cap space relief because they claimed him.

Any new word on why they cut Tillery?
                          Or still just speculation?
