Resign Pipkins. How many seasons does it take us to learn we need more than 2 good OTs? We are literally living it now, like almost every year for the last 10. NFL teams will always and forever need 3 quality OTs. TT has bet way too many seasons on a 2 good OT model that failed within days of season start, goddamnit!

Dump Feiler - he’s never been as good as his salary, he’s often the weak link when the #1 unit is humming. upgrade opportunity at reduced cost imo.

Chargers have passed 215 more times than they have run it. 2nd biggest difference in NFL.
Only Tampa has passed it at a higher rate with 224 more passes than runs.
Herbert has 6 completions of 40yd plus, 4th best.
        The league leaders have 9.
        Tua has 6 like Justin.

Herbert has 35 completions of 20 plus yards, 6th best in the league. Tua with his high flying offense has 38. Only 3 more. And his WR have been healthy. Mahomes is head and shoulders above all other QBs here with 52.

One would think Tua would have much more 20plus and 40plus completions. Yet he doesn't. He is nearly identical to Herbert numbers for the big chunk gains.

Chargers are one of the most pass heavy teams in all the NFL and the numbers show that to be true. Literally top 3 in pass attempts and bottom 4 in run attempts.

They have a philosophy to use the short pass as extension of run game. By doing this it waters down the air distance yards. So looking at that metric and seeing a low yards per attempt is not surprising.

Anyway. Chargers are literally one of the most pass happy teams in all NFL and yet fans seem to thing we run it too much.

Bombs away needs super speedy flankers. And even then you would only toss a few a game because the defense is likely giving you the underneath stuff. Deep throws mean pass blocking has to hold up a second longer. Is it good enough to do that. It's a low percentage high risk play to go bombs away all day. Sacks and turnovers are just as likely as completing it.
Herbert will be getting hit more to play the game this way.

You want to set up your deep shots. It's a fight on GameDay. Jab, jab, body shot, jab, jab....then throw a well timed haymaker.
Short pass is the jab. Run is the body shot.
Chargers have been peppering opponents with the jab all year.

I know you want Lombo to tell Herbert to be like Rocky and just toss haymakers over and over while his face and ribs get destroyed but that not a good game plan to have a long successful career or to win the fight each GameDay.

        :bertstare:

but acho would argue it took Justin several hundred more attempts to get the same amount of big plays...he'll take 2a all day. He doesnt bring up the fact that 2a got benched both years for a journeyman QB and didnt do much til he got these 2 WRs and a HC that seems pretty good. He doesnt bring up that the dollfish have a much better D and 2a doesnt have to score as much to win.

Stats are tricky - How many games did Tua miss? I can’t recall - 2, 3, ? He definitely now has far superior downfield weapons - but he doesnt have and will never have the same arm. Can’t knock him based on how he’s doing this year, thats for sure - they are a threat.

This constant my QB is better than your QB is tiresome juvenile dick measuring.

Both Tua and Herbert have what it takes in QB skills to win SB rings. What each needs is coaching and rest of the players on the team to get the rings.

true. u know I wouldnt have disdain for tua if it werent for acho constantly licking tua's ballsack and dismissing what Justin has done from game 2 of his rookie season. I actually dont have disdain for tua...just disdain for acho and his horrid takes.
                  and it's not dick-measuring, it's QB-measuring lol!

Acho realized he gets more attention by flinging boogers at Herbert than anything else so he’s going to ride that dick as long as the twitterverse obliges.

Insults or stats will never shut him up and just feed the beast. The only thing that will shut him up will be Herbert’s record overtime.

I hope that’s sooner than later.

Herbert is NFL #5 in pass yards (3004), Tua #19 (2564).

he just wants to prove to folks that his original "bust" label for Justin is correct...so correct that it blinds him of reality.

Tua deserves to be called the better QB right now and I have no problem with it. He leads the league in passer rating, is completing 70 percent of his passes and has thrown 19 TD passes to just 3 INTs. The season isn't done yet. Herbert and Tua meet in a few weeks and then there are the playoffs.
