I'll say this about Staley, the juxtaposition of him being a "relationships-first", player friendly coach and also being one that prefers to fit players to his system/scheme may be his undoing. How many player-friendly yet system-reliant coaches have there been that have had tremendous success? The only system coaches that stand out to me that have had tremendous success are Tom Landry and Bill Bellichick, and they aren't or weren't exactly known to have been led by the nose by their own players.

Totally agree. But I understand what people are saying about Herbert being better off someplace else. Fifteen to 20 years from now it will be a shame if Herbert is criticized by idiots for never winning a Super Bowl.

We by far have the best QB so is it the injuries (ribs included) or the coaching?

Are we over performing or under performing.

Which of those teams have under performed the most? Browns

            Which has over performed? Vegas
am fairly certain it's time for a new GM, but am pretty much dead certain that we need a new coaching staff.... Staley is the Michael Dukakis of HCs.

Las couple of years is an EXAMPLE of how not to Waste the best SB window the team could have with Herbert ob rookie contract.

This is the main argument dor TT and all of his hires to go.

                how much would an RB1 help his cause ?? a TE2 ??

and are you rolling the dice on Linsley again, or do you get a starting caliber center in here over the offseason ??

are you resigning Pipkins ?? are you restructuring Feiler ?? or are you moving on from the all of 'em ??

who's your swing tackle ?? backup OG ?? backup OC ?? how many new linemen are you going to add ??

if the hiring of Anthony Ray was in a way put upon the Chargers, their about face was to insist on the Whiz and Gus.... Staley has brought us Lombo and Hill and of his own doing.

Staley has been heavily involved w/the draft and in FA. they have gotten lucky w/Mack 'n Callahan, and not so much w/MW and JC Jack. Derwin has stayed on the field, Keenan not so much.

Bosa and Asante were known injury concerns as well. the draft and FA are a 50/50 gambit. considering the aforementioned, we have been doing well on that front.

we have been (very) unlucky w/the likes of Rashawn, Justin, J Day and AJ. throw in two RBs, another receiver or two, and now guard, not to mention our starting tackle, we have been snakebit considering all the known risk we took on (including the likes of Linsley and Parham as well), along w/the unexpected rash of injuries.

not only has the roster been assembled top heavy in talent, but the most all of said talent are injury concerns. those are management decisions, and of which our HC was largely involved in.

injuries are to be expected, but when you burden the odds w/a top heavy roster on top of that, and all w/injury concerns, think you were asking for trouble to begin with.

personally am ready for the Spanos to bring in another Joe Schmo 'n Co.

job one is to clean house in the scouting dept. and bring it up to speed, aka look very carefully @any and everyone that was here under AJ.

the other task in front of the Spanos is to get Kroenke (and the NFL) to replace the SoFi turf.... just terrible.

and re: the HC.... peoples want another Marty/Ross.... think the closest to those two are Rivera/Flores ??

and if they want to pair them w/a young offensive mind, think Joe Brady is available as well

My Terps basketball team hired a new head coach after sucking last year. They’re now 8-0 and are playing great basketball.

Coaching counts. Winning schemes count. Winning starts at the top.

Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
                      Let’s win one for Mack.

Staley wont be going anywhere, what is this season 2? He's at least got another 2-3 years before the axe drops. Lynn was here for 4 seasons I believe.

Spano's is the real problem. I hate Jerry Jones, but the guy wants to win and does whatever it takes.

We have a way of making players come to life. Tillery came to life against Clapp who is big drop off at OC. Man had we had Linsley and Zion id have run right at Tillery all day.

How did Keenan disappear? Herbert had no time to throw most of the game. Carr only completed 53% of his passes. He just got the big ones to Adams. But we gave up the typical 154 yards rushing for over 5 ypc.
It is always about matchups. Jones/Tillery have arm length. Our guys famously do not. Laugh, but that is what was going on here. Due to injury, that was not an NFL offensive line we threw out there.

Regarding Herbert vs Carr, Herbert frankly should have been throwing away the football on numerous occasions. His mobility and overall game is still clearly affected by the ribs.

In spite of not having enough time to find open receivers, and no defense, Justin still put us in position to win the game. The cappers to the complete shit show were the Keenan non call and the Carter drop.

Asante was in perfect position to defense that long TD to Adams, but swiped and missed. Carr had that and the flea flicker to inflate appearances, with zero QB pressure from us. K9 had his usual wildly inconsistent game.

We STILL should have won 28-27 from Herbert heroics !
                          We play modern Harball.
