First, thank you to Fleet.
So, I hated to bring this damn thread back to life but we got an unsettling (but not all that unexpected) update on this front.
My daughter is 3 years removed from her bout with cancer. A couple of routine follow-up exams showed here platelet levels were trending down and an ultrasound was ordered. A spot was found on her liver but that turned out to be nothing. Spooked the living hell out of us, but half the population is walking around with spots on their livers that are nothing. With her history they just had to confirm exactly what it was. What they did find is that her spleen has enlarged by about 2.5 centimeters since the last ultrasound and that's a sign of disease activity. Another bone marrow biopsy later and we have about 10% cancer cells in the marrow. That's a far cry from over 70% when we first discovered this, but we are going to have to take action. So we are off to MD Anderson in Houston the first week of December.
We are grateful that this is a slow moving non-aggressive cancer, but it does have to be dealt with. This board was very supportive the first go round, and I know there are a lot of new folks, but I again ask for the power of prayer and MOJO from you guys. She's my only child, is planning a wedding in February, building a house and just has a lot going for her. I'm going to pull her through this come hell or high water and your support will help me make a difference.

Praying that for your family Mako. My 28 year old brother in law just got diagnosed with preleukemia and is going through chemo and getting a bone marrow transplant. He just had his first child, my niece who is about 4 months old so my family can feel your pain. I could only imagine as a father what it’s like to deal with my child with this disease.
