Rivers sat for two seasons behind an eventual HOF QB, then stepped into a roster that was arguably the best in the NFL, with the best OL in the league, and he had the best RB in league history to carry the offense. Rivers would eventually be the man who carried the offense and he was great, but he had the luxury of transitioning into that role.

Herbert stepped into a game on a moment's notice in week 2 of his rookie year and instantly elevated the offense to an elite level and has carried the team from that point. Herbert did have KA/MW/AE as playmakers and there is no denying that the immediate success he enjoyed was tremendously helped by having these guys. He would not have been as good with a lesser surrounding cast. But he has still carried this offense since become the sudden starter.

I've been meaning to do a post about this. As much frustration as Chargers' fans have endured, most of this century we have enjoyed having an elite QB, passing game and offense for most of this century. Even when the team wasn't good, it has always had a good offense, with a few exceptions. That is thanks to Brees & LT at the beginning of the century, but mostly Rivers and his HOF caliber career, and his incredible durability and consistency. Then we transitioned immediately into the Herbert era. I can't think of another team other than the Patriots and Packers that has had a consistently good offense over the past twenty years.
I'd like to say I am just as big of a FoutsFan. It also took Coryell to make Fouts from a good QB to HOF QB.

        33rd Team is no bullshit.

In the dense, 9 minute interview, Staley went into the process of building the winning culture we are working toward.

In life and in football, progress towards goals can often be something that we are not cognizant of for a while.

Our team is playing hard and playing for each other.

They now have a whiff of what good StaleyD smells like.

What I am seeing here is a lot of posting that is missing the mark IMHO.

Fantasy Football on the brain, spitting out stats, hating on the FO are mindsets that cause poor judgement calls on the part of fans.

Every year young players finally flash late.

Nasir, Alohi, Ja'Sir, K9, Tranq, and Kelley stand out recently.

It is all a cliche, until it all becomes fact.

        We'll see.
        We play modern Harball.

I remember Bill Walsh savaging Ryan Leaf for his poor footwork coming out of Washington State.
He had some things he needed to correct, and waited too long to do it.

True, but looking back on his playing time, his footwork ended up being the least of his problems.

We all had that whiff. Question is whether that was a one-off or something we can expect to see going forward. It was what I hoped to see from the jump

Mensa in Miami says they lost because the players went off script.

Staley and Co have the movie script for a potential blockbuster.

                We have got this.

We sure did see some fire from Herbert in that game. We got the first down signal after the 3rd and 8 scramble for 10 yards, the finger point back at Keenan after the missile into the 6 inch window on the sideline and the football spike in the locker room. Think Herbert wasn't aware of the social media junk posted?

As you can now clearly see,
Jade does not do candy-assed football.

You say you want "consistency" ??

Re sustaining the standard set Sunday night--

"Let's make it part of our DNA down the stretch. You have to treat each week as if it has a life of its own. The game plan for Miami is gonna be so different than the one, you know, this week for Tennessee. You've got to have that right respect for each week. And you've got to pour into it. That's what we're gonna do."
