In the dense, 9 minute interview, Staley went into the process of building the winning culture we are working toward.
In life and in football, progress towards goals can often be something that we are not cognizant of for a while.
Our team is playing hard and playing for each other.
They now have a whiff of what good StaleyD smells like.
What I am seeing here is a lot of posting that is missing the mark IMHO.
Fantasy Football on the brain, spitting out stats, hating on the FO are mindsets that cause poor judgement calls on the part of fans.
Every year young players finally flash late.
Nasir, Alohi, Ja'Sir, K9, Tranq, and Kelley stand out recently.
It is all a cliche, until it all becomes fact.
We'll see.Boze...Center of Attention

I remember Bill Walsh savaging Ryan Leaf for his poor footwork coming out of Washington State.Originally posted by FoutsFan View Post
That right there was a Greek Tragedy. He had all the gifts and abilities to be better than Manning but he did not want to put in the work or effort. He had an arm though that was like Herbert's. Every throw could be made and it looked effortless.
He had some things he needed to correct, and waited too long to do it.

True, but looking back on his playing time, his footwork ended up being the least of his problems.Originally posted by powderblueboy View Post

We all had that whiff. Question is whether that was a one-off or something we can expect to see going forward. It was what I hoped to see from the jumpOriginally posted by wu-dai clan View Post

We sure did see some fire from Herbert in that game. We got the first down signal after the 3rd and 8 scramble for 10 yards, the finger point back at Keenan after the missile into the 6 inch window on the sideline and the football spike in the locker room. Think Herbert wasn't aware of the social media junk posted?

Was there some astute analysis I might have missed perusing that thread? It reads like our Game Day threads... "Defense sucks, always out of position", "McDaniel failed us", "F**ck these bums, we suck, fire everyone", "I'm frustrated with this team", "WHAT IN THE **** IS (insert name here) DOING", "real linebackers next year please", "(insert name here) was held there", "This entire coaching staff and team can kiss my ass!", etc.Originally posted by Fleet 1 View Post

You say you want "consistency" ??
Re sustaining the standard set Sunday night--
"Let's make it part of our DNA down the stretch. You have to treat each week as if it has a life of its own. The game plan for Miami is gonna be so different than the one, you know, this week for Tennessee. You've got to have that right respect for each week. And you've got to pour into it. That's what we're gonna do."
