I don't hold out high hope that JCJ will ever be a CB1 for the Chargers. At this point I've got my hopes up that Michael Davis can step into the role as CB1.

I take the opposite viewpoint. IF you have a bad pass rush then….yes…you can’t have enough shutdown DB’s.
But if you have a great pass rush, you take a lot of heat of your DB’s in coverage.
Same on the other side of the ball.
What would really upgrade the Chargers is giving Herbie more time in the pocket and less time to opposing QB’s.
Trenches. Keep the emphasis there like SF does.

Chargers News: JC Jackson Provides Positive Update On Recovery From Knee Injury
It's looking good, Chargers fans
Around this time last season, the Los Angeles Chargers were making noise in free agency and brought in talented cornerback JC Jackson coming off of his best season with the New England Patriots. LA envisioned Jackson being a huge part of their defense following a year where they barely missed the playoffs after a loss to the Raiders in the final regular season week.
Jackson agreed to a 5-year, $82.5 million contract and along with the signing of Khalil Mack, it looked like defense would be the last thing the Chargers had to worry about in 2022. Unfortunately, the 27-year-old was ruled out for the entire season before he could really even get rolling after a non-contact knee injury against the Seattle Seahawks.
…
While this was super scary and any injury to an ultra-athletic player like Jackson proves to be a major red flag moving forward, it appears that the former Super Bowl champion is already reaching milestones in his recovery process.
Jackson shared a video of him jogging on a treadmill on his Instagram story and has fans super excited to see his road back to the football field. …“Less is more? NO NO NO - MORE is MORE!”

Besides that…You think Linsley is going to last 3 more seasons?
And the DL was underwhelming even when they were healthy.
