All five OL played the entire game for the Chargers:

Snaps on the defensive side: DBs 254, LBs 208, DL 110. Works out to 5-4-2 alignment. The linebackers were much more involved in this game.

2 of the passes to Mike Williams were short of the first but because he’s such a beast he was able to get the extra yards. Still a bad pass play coordinated by Lombo

Herbie's ribs limited the Chargers ability to roll him out of the pocket. Jalen Hurts and Tua are now hurt. Their teams won't be rolling them out as much now.
Good call - agree with those. Teams are playing Herbie with more split high “over” coverage as a measure of respect for his cannon. To a degree its the Peyton/Lombo pass control design as well to take the underneath and move the chains (which TPB hates, we know). Part of the season it was necessity due to pass rush pressure also. And part of it is we don’t have a fleet of deep pass 4.3 receivers. The most frequent deep ball Herbie throws is to a covered MDub who gets isolated 1x1, with no deep safety help. We do not see a lot of streaking uncovered Charger receivers behind the secondary. I saw Herbie look deep at last 5 times last night and not throw it deep but check down instead. Apparently the deep routes were not open.

As to the “genius” design to have Herbie roll out every play, we saw him just get crushed on one play he ran a planned roll all alone. If he made it a predictable habit, DCs would quickly ensure they had a crusher out there to meet him on every play.

MORE of those passes were past the yardsticks last night though. Small progress by Lombo … baby steps lol

Great about Pipkins, but he committed the obvious holding that nullified the long pass to Parham:

Whatcha guys think, is Rumph about the same as Nwosu was in his second season? If so, I would try harder to retain him for his second contract. Uchenna Nwosu is a really solid edge player now 58 tackles 9 sacks.

Once the official calls a play dead, anything beyond that is unchallengeable.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
                  Let’s win one for Mack.

We had to clench before we could clinch! Looking forward to doing damage in the post season!

if you look at the play design on Herbert's interception, both KA and everett ran into the same window in the zone coverage, how the fuck are you supposed to clear out space when EVERYONE is running a 5-7 yard fucking route?!

Yes, yes, yes, yes, and yes.

When you see a QB with 50 attempts... that means you ran about 65-70 plays. That means you managed to keep the ball and had a large number of 1st downs. That means you weren't in a lot of 3rd-and-long situations. Most of our 3-and-outs are due to sacks and/or holding/false start penalties... 3rd and long. Keeping another team's defense on the field for 70 plays is a back-breaker. Everyone moans about the lack of 3rd period scoring (I hate it, too) but no one mentions how efficient we are in the 4th quarter... when opposing defenses are gassed.

The Chiefs do it to us almost every time. They no longer have Tyreek... yet they sustain drives during the game that tires out our defense. By the 4th quarter, guys like Kelce are indefensible because guys are gassed. Where the short-pass game plan becomes difficult is the redzone. Windows tighten and picks can occur. We need to develop our redzone run game the next 2 games. Screw the call for "just throw it in the endzone". It's not there. Run the damn ball down there... or at least be a threat to run it. It will open everything up down there.

                          Protect the QB
                          Run the ball
                          Play great defense
