We don't know what salary amount or contract length he asked for, nor do we know what the team offered. Hard to come to any conclusion without that.

Whatever the scenarior: Pip and Salyer well thats preferable to Salyer and Feiler
I still would like to see them bring back Oday Aboushi for back up depth. He played well two years ago. Got some spot duty with the Rams. Chargers need better depth. I would trust him over Storm and Sarrell.

He asked for a trade first because they couldn’t come to an agreement contractually. And they permitted it.

I would even take a 3rd and 4th round pick. why? We can use use picks to move up in the draft.

still in the trade Bosa camp....
McCaffrey netted a 2, 3, 4 & 5.... would still retain Ekeler tho.
woulda preferred Denzel, but Kendricks is an upgrade to Tranq, and.... LB is still draft priority.
would still restructure Feiler and not cut him.
Gardner Minshew is a heavy consideration @QB for me.
D'Ernest Johnson is a near absolute necessity @RB, 'specially given that Ek wants to get paid.
no thank you to Dalton Schultz, as would much prefer early talent in draft @TE.
and retaining Everett, regardless of how well we do @TE in the draft.

I'd be ecstatic to get any of those picks in the 60s from the Bears or Eagles but I'm not sure how realistic that is. The Eagles are shrewd operators and Sanders was pretty good for them last year, I don't think they're in a rush to pay a 28 year old RB. As for the Bears, maybe. They're flush with draft picks now and it seems like they want to put some real pieces around Fields to see if he's going to be their long-term solution at QB.

I wouldn't be surprised if Eke is traded by the end of the week especially if there is interest. Trades seem to be happening faster and faster these days.

Eke would be a tough goodbye...but not only do you net a pick...you also have cap space for another player...oline or secondary depth maybe...silver lining...had to replace him sooner or later.

But not gone yet...Im good either way...if he stays, great...if he leaves, best for BOTH parties...he deserves to get paid...just not by us, if its gonna hurt the team build.
