Agree about Bowers - love that kid

I was on twitter and in a convo with a Georgia fan and mentioned "Georgia has the best player in college football.." They replied "Bowers" I said "bingo"

My statement was a bit hyperbolic as I of course didn't see all the players but I can say of all the players I saw - he was right up there as best at his position in college football.

That's the TE I really want but he isn't eligible. I'd trade up for him in 2024 if we pick late in round 1....depending on our TE situation.
I figure Everett will be gone.

Pupunu mention was attempted humor, of course he doesn’t belong with gates and winslow on any list other than he was a charger TE, that said, he remains the only starting chargers TE to play in a superbowl…he was more of a blocking specialist but I loved his TD celebrations…

Tranquil covers decently, and clearly flourished as a blitzer this season. While he’s just an average run defender, I would hate to see him leave given his net positive in the other areas. Murray even showed some coverage chops as well, but after 3 seasons, I’m puzzled as to how his tackling fundamentals are still so atrocious. But I guess the team as a whole hasn’t tackled well under Staley. Why is that? Watching the 49er LBs fly around and make key stops elicits envy. So why is it that LBs seem to be a lesser priority in Staley’s system? This is why I was hoping Niemann might step up like his bro did after a few seasons. Because I assume that LB once again won’t be a high priority in the upcoming draft.

Didn't Alfred catch a TD against the Steelers? He also made a huge grab in the 4th.

We run a puzzling D scheme. The base is the 3/4. But we don't have the front seven to run it effectively in the traditional sense. The traditional 3/4 requires your front 3 to be
big guys, in particular the nose. We don't have that. Staley is running a scheme that is more often seen in college football. It worked with the Rams but they had different
personnel. It was said that we use disguises on our D more than any other in the NFL. I would say we have a D that disguises itself as a NFL defense.

                LOL!!

Also as has been noted - prime year Aaron Donald + Jalen Ramsey can certainly cover up a lot of blemishes.

Solid shot. Yet, we kept the guy who runs the defense. Only the Chargers

He did, 43 yards down the right hash, he was wide open, almost alone and stan under threw the ball, pupunu had to wait for it and almost got caught…alfred led the team in receiving that day, he caught 4 of 5 targets for 76 yards, including a couple critical third down conversions…

just to put what he meant to the team in that game into perspective, he caught as many passes as the rest of the receivers combined! Tony martin caught one pass in 4 targets but it was the game winning TD and that’s why his catch is the enduring image from that game…the only other three receptions were 2 catches by natrone and one by harmon…the chargers don’t win that game without pupunu…

Staley is guilty of many things, bad gameday roster management, bad clock management, and bad game time decisions…but the one thing I really can’t abide is that his defenses have not been good, that’s what turned me against him, his chickenshit defense…

from now on, instead of referring to it as the Fangio defense we should just call it the "chickenshit defense". All aboard?

Lots of defenders sprinkled all over the field and no one can cover or tackle?!?!?!
