And the offense was pretty pedestrian at times last year
    Maybe a healthy OLine helps
a new OC - should help

But nobody at WR is getting faster and or better with the ball in their hands after the catch -

Hmm, who was Mahomes #1 WR last year?
      His TE.

I don't think Herbert NEEDS a #1 WR , but the team needs more speed at the possition.to balance it out.
There's only 1 Jamar Chase and Tyreek Hill..

A better question might be who designed and called the plays in KC? I think we can all agree that if Reid was calling our plays and Lombo was calling KC's plays last year things would have looked vastly different. But do agree we need more speed.

When healthy, 2021 Williams had 15.1 YPC. In 2020 Guyton led the NFL with 18.8 YPC
Last year was an anomaly. QB injured, OL injuries, WR injuries.

Guyton is not a #1/2/3 because he doesn’t get quick separation off the LOS. He’s a downfield role player but not a complete WR. That also explains his high YPC - he’s not effective underneath. At least “was” - 2023 offers a new chance for him to improve and expand his ability, he is young after all. He can also reduce his drops, though he’s not that far off from a few other more respected LAC receivers I won’t mention by name.

I am glad they signed him for a near-min vet contract - he’s alot better than the guys we had to run out there when Dub and Slay went down - that is for damn sure.

Hello Super Bowl. That’s the difference in coaching quality.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

He isn’t, he’s just faster than those other guys.

                  This is our biggest mismatch with KC . . . . . . coaching

I get the argument about Guyton not being a #1 or 2 wr but at the end of the day you really don't want a #1 wr in the four hole as it's a waist to only play a #1 or 2 wr tallent part time. And for those cap conscious folks how much of our cap as a percentage do we want to pay the WR group? A top draft pick that may get 50 catches a year seems out of line to me considering the 50 plus million already allocated to wrs we have...

But then next year, Guyton as WR1 when Slayer leaves? Or even this year, can Guyton play WR1 or 2 if MW or Slayer miss time due to injuries? Not drafting a top pass catcher means expect what happened last year to happen this year, cuz Chargers = injuries.

We don’t need another bottom feeder WR, we got like three or four of them.

Mahomes just in a different league than Herbert.
