Now we're talking! Let's get a bushel of more picks for TT to waste! We should trade Derwin, Bosa, KA and maybe MW as well. We could probably get around 30 picks and just have a squad of rookie wanna bes.

Technically the team trading for him only takes on $19m. Who knows, maybe he takes a pay cut

The Chargers need to move around 35m if not 40+ minimum and it doesn;'t come from releasing just Feiler and Hopkins and Murray. So that is why Keenan Allen is the top of the list

Fine release Khalil Mack - that saves more money

Hell kick the can on every player you can, get 100m of cap space and push it all out so that in two years you have to cut your whole team to pay Justin Herbert.

OK so his salary is $19M. That's still quite a hit to take on for a 30 year old receiver. Pay cut is likely in the cards. But like you said we still would have a ways to go
        to get under the cap.

I get - its a long shot at best. I just do the math and look at not only 2023 but 2024, 2025, Herbert coming due, the Walsh rule about a year too early, year too late. And I am not sure the Chargers are "close enough" to push the chips in the middle - just yet.

Three ways to create cap space without a trade:

          Release
          Restructure
          Pay Cut

            We DESPERATELY need new WR's!
Do whatever it takes to get JH guys that can get open and get downfield but most importantly, stay ON the field.
Should of traded KA last year ( sell high!) Most likely a cut candidate if he won't restructure.
            Shame.

We seemed heavily reliant on Mike Williams. Our win/loss record with/without him was telling. A TE threat plus a solid "conventiional" up the gut run game would do wonders if he's out.

But look at how poor our offense was without him while he was injured this year. We can't just let him go and hope for a miracle.

You shouldn't trade or release good players until you have someone to step in for them. They should try to draft his replacement this year, see how the kid does, and then make the decision to let him go. We're like two years behind.
                THE YEAR OF THE FLIP!

I think they should restructure and extend Allen for another year and spread that money out. Same goes for Gerald Everett, Mike Davis and MW, extend and or restructure. Bosa is the one team they need to trade. I think they can get a late 1st rounder from a team like Seattle. Restructure Linsley, JC Jackson and Derwin. Release Feiler and Hopkins. They can find the money to sign players they need.

Sounds a lot like the New Orleans strategy of pushing the bill forward that they did during the tail end of Brees's career and last off-season. Eventually the bill will come due and good players will be lost regardless but it's a viable band-aid solution if the team really thinks they should go all in for 2023.

We have good players but we don't have championship level players. They can all go. Every single guy who was on the field in Jacksonville is mentally damaged. It will always be in the back of their mind no matter how big a lead or tight a game.

Bosa used to say a few seasons ago that he would wonder how they were gonna blow it. They should have traded him then. It's too late now. Everyone knows he's not up to it mentally.

What a wonderful solution, release everyone, Herbert on down, all the coaches too and start over. We can fill all those positions with our 7 draft picks and a bunch of UDFAs.

We’re gonna trade a lot of those guys and get a boatload of picks. How many #1’s could we get for Herbert?

I just saw that the Jets are willing to give up a few #1’s for Rodgers.
