the more I read about the hire and seeing people like Ted Nguyen give it a thumbs up - the more I like it

It's no coincidence that multiple FA'S this past off season played for BS before.

Popper pretty much implies that it was Staley’s choice. He also mentioned in another video about Staley breaking away from the Shanahan scheme if it’s someone like Reich (before he became the Panther’s HC).

The Chargers were in search of a new offensive coordinator after firing Joe Lombardi following a playoff loss to the Jaguars.

          Why was Moore the choice?

Staley had been targeting his offensive coordinator search on a specific coaching tree and system. Three of the candidates the Chargers interviewed — Thomas Brown, Zac Robinson and Greg Olson — all came from Sean McVay’s Rams staff. However, the Chargers were still keeping an eye on exciting, proven and experienced candidates outside of that tree — like Frank Reich, who ended up taking the head-coaching job with the Panthers. Moore fits a similar mold. He does not have any obvious connection to McVay or Kyle Shanahan, but he spent four successful seasons as the Cowboys’ play-caller.

Moore coordinated a top-five offense by EPA per play over that span while working under two different head coaches, according to TruMedia. He played in the league. He is young, creative and forward-thinking. Staley wants an improved run game, and the Cowboys were top-10 in EPA per designed rush in Moore’s four seasons. Moore checks a lot of boxes. — Popper

It wasn’t my theory I just ran with it because it kind of makes sense, read the previous two pages and it’ll make more sense, staley was looking for mcvay/shanahan guys and moore doesn't fit the profile, robinson was the favorite and suddenly moore is available and the chargers snapped him up within 24 hours! Someone else posted that this has the feel of a spanii move and I agree…

Compared to the other names being thrown around I think Moore makes the most sense at this time. A lot of the other names that were thrown around like Brown, Luke Steckel, Zac Robinson are either unproven as play-callers or guys that failed miserably at their last stop for any number of reasons like Mike LaFleur/Joe Brady as an OC.

Moore has experience, is a former QB and can likely handle more responsibility on offense that comes with having a defensive HC. He's the highest floor guy out of the names that were being thrown around which is at least better than Lombardi.

I mentioned this on page 3, it just makes too much sense, we have no one behind justin ATM and cooper is already familiar with the way moore runs his offence…it all depend son whether he’s okay leaving dallas and how he gets along with moore…

agreed that is the major reason for Telesco getting an undeserved 11th year

the “better than lombardi” offense coming at ya!

If the Chargers start out 2-4 or 3-6 Staley may have hired his replacement.
