The thing is with him going back to school, he would still have a weird body type and short arms. Could he improve his technique some, yeah, every player could. But his technique and finish is already better than most players, so he is way ahead. And NFL coaches do a much better job of refining technique than most college coaches do.

But Tuli was never going to be one of those guys who propelled himself to the top 5 or top 10 picks. He doesn't have the physical tools and doesn't pass the eyeball test like the Bosa brothers do/did.

Tuli was never going to shoot up to be a top pick, so he is better off getting in into the workforce a year early.

I think you’re right. He was Pac12 DPOY, he wasn’t going to improve on that much. the eye test and measurables dictate first round slotting, probably not getting into that group. thing to me - he’s a fucking footballer. I think he will outperform expert expectations.

People tend to think about the most elite of elite. We all love those guys - they are taken in the top 8 picks, they ain’t around at 54.

Tuli is not a speed-type guy. He is not going to run past OT and win with just speed. He is a hands/technique guy who plays with power and doesn't have any wasted movement. He is not really fast, but he isn't slow either. He is kinda a Morgan Fox or Bosa type of player. They may lack elite traits to run around, but they play their position really well, and can play across the DL, either filling in for Bosa or Mack being moved around, or he can move inside and outside. Tuli can fill a lot of roles on the DL. Edge, 3 tech on the rush line and can even drop in coverage.

Imho if he stayed one more year he'd be a 15-sack guy and would've been a potential top 15 pick.

Anyone know what the sticking point is for Tuli? I thought rookie contracts were all pretty standard now? One the greatest things NFL did. I always hated the dreaded first round hold outs.
