Stackpole’s latest mock on CBS has us taking Odunze at 11 and JCP at 23. That’s a heck of a draft.

He also has Nabers at 4 and MHJr at 6. Wow. Draft opinions are evolving.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
    The Wasted Decade is done.

AGAIN, we prioritize Offense over Defense. This must be your wish but it will not be JH's picks

I would perform Quad Lutz if that happening.

As the top QBs get prioritized in football, don’t the top WRs have to be prioritized too. Everybody has to have the right tools to maximize their output, from the physicist to the street sweeper.

That is where philosophies clash one will say WR maximise QB other will say rock solid OL is better.

We have clearly a coach who leans towards option 2.

Or to both. Which one does he bolster first. I believe WR at 5, OL at 37 is better than the reverse. And both upgrade the O substantially.

Yep. Bringing Jesse Minter to the NFL, strapping him with this defense, then telling him to wait on players... is kind of mean.
From Day 1 (actually before JH was hired) the braintrust has said things like, "Imagine Justin Herbert with a running game"... "You have to protect your franchise QB". With that being priority 1... a RT makes so much sense. After that, the defense needs attention.

                #11 RT Fuaga
#23 LB Edgerrin Cooper. He does all the things Minter needs done @LB. Emphasis on blitzing.
#37 DT Kris Jenkins, Ruke Orhorohor, or Leonard Taylor. All very strong vs the run and provide disruption in the middle.
#69 CB Mike Sainsristil. Knows how Minter wants to defend the pass. Very good tackler.

You could always wait later on defense... but you may not get guys who do all the things Minter wants/needs them to do.

When taken 1st, who starts year 1. Barring being an injury replacement, who gets the most snaps year 1? That should be our 1st rounder.

I believe it will be tough for any OL to start at the beginning of the year, maybe even the whole year. I could see any of the WRs starting game 1 in 3 WR sets at a minimum.

Nabers is my favorite, but any of the top 3 WRs is my first pick.

He brings a new element on the inside,
                    That being energy and penetration.
Our overall defense becomes better with TFLs.
                    And outside player effectiveness.
The Chargers were already well aware of Fiske's arm length
when they had a recent Top 30 visit with him.
Fully agree. I think it will be Jenkins or Fiske.I only give Jenkins a slight edge because JH knows him well. But Fiske is a player that would work well for us. He has the short arms but has good hand use to avoid this situtaion

Arms...oops...way below average at 31", so qualifies as a T-Rex. But does that affect his tackling? Look:

                      image.png
Maybe. Tackling grade of 59% is not all that good. I want a DT who has a minimum of whiffs and is a solid run-stopper.

The other top DTs Newton, got a 59 also and Murphy a 64...according to that site. Jenkins had a 70. Not sure i care about that much. Need disruption as a whole. Not sure how you get a 80 in run defense and a 59 in tackling. Need a breakdown of some sort.
I like that sites setup but kinda goofy. I like their Simulator as well but its difficult making trades and doesnt run smooth sometimes.

I give Fiske an advantage over Jenkins and I urge everyone to discard the "Harbaugh knows him well" instinct to prefer a player just because of his familiarity. Thats not an intellectually mature methodology for selecting talent.
