Yep! they kicked their QB to the curb when his second contract was due!
Nice rebuttal bringing in the QB, you sure know football.
Just think what the Chiefs could have done with Tyreek the last 2 seasons, but they kept Mahomes, Jones, and spent more in the trenches instead.
The fools!
How is the Dolphins off season going by the way?
That's right my bad it's early in the morning! But there is a chance we trade for Justin Jefferson! We've always had star WR's and the cap goes up next year? I think though we are probably going for one of the top 3 WR's in the draft! We'll see how things unfold!?
SIGH! Weren't you the poster that said "The Chargers are not going to sign Gus Edwards"! You're not always right either pal!
There is ZERO chance we trade for Jefferson. We just traded Keenan and that cap space is much needed to get a couple guys to help fill this roster. The defense is pretty depleted.
Jefferson has a 18 mil cap hit and turned down 30 plus from the Vikes already.
The Ravens have never had star recievers....they have had at least one good one and those good ones have been Brown who was OK and small, and now they have Flowers. They have drafted 4 first round recievers since 2006 and they have been Brashard Periman who was a bust, and Brown...who wanted out, Bateman and now Flowers. Torrey Smith was a second rounder who was a bust and Boykin a 3rd....and a bust. They actually dont have a good track record with WRs. They did sign Beckham to a 1 year deal,,,,and he didnt really do much there.
And i didnt say we wouldnt sign Edwards.....i said i didnt prefer him, and i dont. He is an ok RB for us but we will get more and have a committie. I prefered to get two RBs in the draft or sign another RB and be younger at the possotion.
Some can’t see through their blinders that the Ravens do use enough capital on WRs. Unlike some teams they are smart enough not to overpay when the 2nd contract comes due.
Keenan would prefer to go 5-12 again and get his money to stay. If Jefferson wants 30 per no chance he’s coming to the Chargers.
Stay in the NFC North basement for years to come and get that money. How long before he complains about losing or not getting the ball enough? Diggs part 2?
Just read an interesting piece on how the team can proceed on the cheap in FA and plug a few holes. Please remember that I did not pick these names, but it does give some food for thought. Renfrow WR (I will say I do like this dude A LOT), Steve Nelson CB (Would be a great addition taking need out of the draft early), Calais Campbell E/DL (They cited the fact that he can play edge or elsewhere on the DL and we need that), Patrick Peterson CB (a 1 year deal?) and like I said I didn't pick them but Jerry Tillery DL. I'll leave that one without comment.......
Agree we can get a few cheaps...but Campbell is 38. At some point that wall is gonna knock him back lol...Tillery is signed by Minnesota.

You're the one who made the blanket statement you genius of football knowledge.
Be careful calling people stupid for discussing the idea of What if the Chargers traded for Jefferson seems a little mean spirted. Joe has said they want to get the best football players, isn't Jefferson one of the best WR's, and isn't the cap going up next season!
Couldn't someone say the same thing when you said... "The Chargers are not signing Gus Edwards, and argued that he isn't that great of a RB compared to the Ravens other RB?
They could....had i said that. Im not wanting Dobbins. Too injury prone.
It would cost more than the 5th pick -add another future first rounder or a second this year
Plus if Odunze or Nabers are that good -take them at 5 and save about $150m of cap space for the next four years. Harbaugh and Hortiz are in this for the long haul/.. This roster needs a helluva lot more than Justin Jefferson.
My belief is they will draft one of the three WRs projected in the top 7 by PFF - Harrison Jr., Nabers, or Odunze, depending on who's available and whether they move down a few spots if a team wants to trade up to get a QB. Any of these three guys would probably instantly be the best WR on the team, even if KA and MW were still on the roster, and they will be young and on a rookie contract. All three of these guys are expected to be exceptional, special players in the NFL. They may add another WR in the draft as well, they have an extra pick at the top of the 4th round. They could draft two WR and a RB in their first five picks next month.
With the shock of losing KA on top of MW over, I look forward to what their next moves are. The Chargers now have the tenth most cap space - $28 mil and some change, and they have 5 picks in the top 110, and this time it's not Tom Telesco drafting. They probably aren't done in free agency, with all that new cap space.
The offensive roster is being completely remade - the top 3 weapons of the Justin Herbert era, Keenan, MW and Ekeler are gone. While the defense, so far, is remaining more or less intact - which may seem counter-intuitive because the offense has consistently been a top 10 unit in the NFL while the defense has consistently been a bottom 5 unit.
This is going to be a completely different team, especially on offense, under (hopefully) competent leadership.
