Who cares that he won a SB as a player. That means nothing. And nearly winning a SB means he lost. He hasn't come close to being to one since. His drafts suck, he fails to have a offense most of the time which means he doesn't know who a good OC is. I believe one of his OC's was Brian Shottenhiemer.
He is a very over rated HC who is one loss away from having the most in history. Fuck that douce bag. He would just be another bad choice like Norv and McCoy.

Like it or not, if MehCoy gets fired Fisher will be on the Spanii radar.

Doubt it, he won't want to pay his over inflated asking price. We will probably end up with someone like Kyle Shanghan.
Cheap and young. This is not an endorsement

All kidding aside, I think Fisher is the kind of guy that could come in and change the culture in Chargers Park. He is strong willed and that won't blend with the Spanii, but we need change and it will take a strong will to promote that change. I know he's not popular here, but get past the petty-ness and the whole Merriman thing. If TT isn't a control freak, then maybe he and Fisher can put their heads together and right this ship. IMP, Fisher is Marty without the playoff curse.
Change the culture? Maybe for the worse, but certainly not for the better! We'd still be painfully mediocre, but that sack of crap Fisher would coach our players to play dirty and intentionally injure opponents too.

I think we all realize that, but that doesn't mean we have to pretend it's a good thing and talk ourselves into the hire.

His record is inflated because when he started out as a head coach, his stone-age offense from the leather helmet era still worked. In today's league, his approach to the game has long since stopped working. He can't even convince a decent offensive coordinator to work for him anymore, because nobody wants to coach his obsolete system and then be made the scapegoat when it fails again.

Seriously, other than a couple fluky years here and there, what has Fisher ever accomplished without prime McNair and Eddie George in a bygone era? He's literally Norv 2.0.

The Chargers HC job is pretty attractive because the team is young, has some talent and a top qb. I expect it to be the top opening in football. Let's get a guy who can attract top assistants.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

With that in mind you may be right. I don't think he gets near the payday the Rams gave him in his next position though, so that may put in the salary range of the Spanii. Afterall they are paying MehCoy 4Mil/year.

Oh please...that whole dirty coach myth is just a knee jerk reaction by guys that got all butt hurt by the perceived intentional injurying of a player who was roided up anyway.

He's a defensive minded coach who has never been the offensive play caller or the offensive architect. You made up 99% of this post just because you don't like the guy...which comes as no surprise.

Merriman just yesterday on Radio or TV, one of the two, ....said that he had been told by ten players that Fisher targeted opposing players. I didn't hear it, it was tweeted.
