Yeah, it's concerning. All the old bugaboos are rearing their ugly heads.Originally posted by Berserker76 View PostWhat the hell happened to Minter's defense, seriously, where did it go??? And before anyone gets started about injuries, STFU. That game is getting old.
Poor tackling, terrible angles, can't get pressure on the QB, can't close out drives at the end of game, dumb penalties.

They're a hard-fighting team. They should have actually beaten Buffalo in Week 1, so they should be 4-3 right now. They also gave the Lions a tough game. Nobody should expect a walk in the park against them. I thought we would win tonight, and we should have, but by no means did I think it would be easy in Arizona.Originally posted by wu-dai clan View Post
It looked like the Chargers walked into the stadium expecting to win easily TBH.
AZ has dangerous, prideful, competitive football players, as we saw, such as Kyler and Conner.
So Tart pulled a 300# McCree on us.
And the Reagor play was as bizaare as it gets.

The D actually held up not too bad. The backbreaker was 25 Colson or 29 Hart? couldn't contain on Murray's TD. Took a crappy angle. Other than that they held them in check not too bad.
Hart and Henley need to tackle better. That was bad luck w Raegor's fumble into the end zone or he is a scrub who doesn't know how to protect the ball. guy was a #1 draft pick.
This is a rebuilding year. We had 3 rookies playing D tonite and missing many weapons on O so there were going to be mistakes. Like the broadcasters were saying we really have no deep threats just a bunch of guys. I think next year w another offseason we will be a serious contender. We need a #1 WR, a pass catching TE, upgrades at DT, CB etc.
Not getting to bent out of shape over games like this though they could have played better. 10-7 type season really

Jim's guys complacent? not buying that bullshit for a second, the Cardinals did this to the Packers too, they stoned the run game, difference is that we don't have the WRs or in general we don't have the offensive playmakers that we used to and that the Packers have...nobody can finish and the one guy that's flashed some TD scoring ability was out in this game...Originally posted by wu-dai clan View Post

Herbert made some low key great throws. Moved the ball through the air well tonight but it was all empty calories. Couldn't get it done when they needed to.Originally posted by CanadianBoltFan View Post
No they are not. Going into week 8 and Chark hasnt played a snap. His last good year in the NFL was 4 years ago
Defenses will contunue to stack the box and snuff out the run game and keep short passes in front of them. Herbert has to be basically perfect, he has no room for error as he pecks his way down the field with this crew.
I though Herbert was excellent tonight given what he had to work with. So much for Roman giving him a consistent run game to work with.

I mean, not quitting is something to celebrate? That's table stakes. Like celebrating that your kid didn't flunk out of school.Originally posted by NoMoreChillies View PostHeartbrekaing loss
Chargers grind it but come up short. Needed a big play WR. Where was B.Rice? I saw him on 1 play that Herb got mad at.
Positive side:
I didnt see any quit. Getting beat on the play is football. They all played hard.
I want them to play smart, fundamental, disciplined football. Then I'll celebrate.

I don't want to get too much into the refs but yeah, there was some bullshit in this game and most of it in the second half during critical drives etc....Originally posted by Boltx View Post
If the refs are going to have this much power and control over outcomes, then any and all penalties need to be reviewable. Everything.
I don't care if games take 5 hours. It's almost 2025, this should be EZ to take care of by now."The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. I am reading the legit takes that we may have overinvested in OL and underinvested in weapons.
But in my humble opinion, we could be well served with QJ, Chark and an elite ORG.
The OL played poorly period.
Just one of Dicker's figgies being turned a TD conversion and we win.
Moving forward our Red Zone performance absolutely must improve.HowellER KlareTE FarmerOG M'baDT TollisonC 4.3.26

Eh, can't expect them to do it all. Offense sucks ass and the officials do the same shit every game.Originally posted by KrazyLegs View Post

If we get the fehoko call, we probably win this game, as ugly as it was.
2 game changing calls/no calls when the game was on the line. Fehoko not getting the call, and then the defense predictably getting called for a game changing penalty on the ensuing drive? You can't make this stuff up. Especially in a league where many times game outcomes are determined by one score.

Well when you have have invested 3 of your last 4 first round picks on o line and they get absolutely manhandled by an undermanned, poorly rated defense it might be time to look at asset management. Where is the o line that is supposed to be imposing their will and giving Justin Herbert a run game??Originally posted by DerwinBosa View Post
Lol. I can't disagree more. But I'm more than confident this will be a successful season, much more than what Staley ever produced.
Until then, I'll just laugh when I read that getting a #1 receiver is the most important thing we need to do--after we just got outrushed 181-59 and threw for 336 yards against the Cardinals' 145.
What you are failing to see is that defenses are all on thier toes playing short and stacking the box with no downfield threat and real playmaker on this offense. It is obvious to see and was rightfully pointed out by the broadcast crew. Dobbins didnt have a hole to run though all night long.
