A TD would have been nice. But let's be real - they drove down to our 13 and bled the clock before kicking the FG. They would have gone for a TD themselves to win and the way things go vs them, they'd have converted.

Nope. We lost because our offense is lousy. No matter how good the D is, you cannot hold a team like the Chiefs down for a whole game. Mistakes were
made on D on the last drive, but it never should have come down to that. The Bills showed you have to put the game out of reach so you don't give Mahomes
a chance to beat you at the end. Simply put our offense did not do it's job. 17 points does not cut in the NFL. We were lucky the Chiefs offense is just not
that great this year and that made the game closer that it could have been.

that's pretty much how it went except I didnt let her get to the "I'm waiting" portion.

Could blame the Cards loss and KC loss on the defense. Gave up game winning drives both times. If you do tho you are ignoring inept offensive performances for half the game last night and almost the whole game against AZ.

We dont know why that is that he isnt playing but all i see is complaints like we have amatuer coaches. I sure do NOT want to go back to Staley and McCoy type coaches but all i see is complaining....still! Just gets tiresome.

Its year one, we have a very good defense and a adequate offense. This is our worst team we will have under these coaches and GM and we are likely playoff bound (and the culture is miles better than it has been. Starting next year as the team is even better, KCs reign as AFC West champs may be over! We arent going to a SB this year but it will only get better from here.
It does. We're clearly heading in the right direction. I don't understand why some don't keep that in mind or see it at all.

              Agreed.

The main reason we have zero wins against playoff teams is the offense.

The defense keeps us in every game. The offense is plodding, lacks explosiveness and playmakers to come through in big moments When you are playing the Josh Allens, Lamar Jacksons, often Mahomes, they are going to put up points. Sometimes you have to out score them.

I know it doesn't fit your narrative of always criticizing the coaching staff, GM and players but the bottom line is this - the O got us the lead late and the D could not stop them. I'm not pretending the O is perfect or Herbert doesn't make mistakes. The O was bad in the first half, but turned it on in the second half. KC could have made lots of plays earlier in the game that would have resulted in a blowout - but they didn't. Their O drove down and scored the game winner with the game on the line against our vaunted D and we lost.

We are heading in the right direction. It's a good year 1 of Harbaugh era.

Sometimes in the moment of watching the game it is frustrating to watch this offense though.

Blocking is not the only thing that matters for an offense. This off season the skill positions better be a big focus. This isnt good enough and we will never compete for a Super Bowl without playmakers

And we better not see Trey Pipkins in a Charger uniform next year

I disagree. It was actually very close, but Herbert had slightly better passing stats than Mahomes.

the kneejerk reactions about Bosa, and of course now Q, are not always rationale. ok, sometimes they are. I thought on BOTH offsides calls but definitely the second one:

                      1. He didn't jump into the neutral zone. He flinched and moved like 2 inches
                      2. He got back to where he was before it was snapped

They were both bullshit, they were effectively calling him for false starts - which does not apply to defenders.

You can say that, it was obviously a contributing factor. We were winning until the last second.
But the woulda, coulda shouldas took place all game.
I was hugely annoyed by the KC OT who was marginally lined up illegally, moving before the snap drawing Joey offsides for the flag repeatedly negating some big plays.
Herbert overthrew a wide open Palmer to miss an easy TD.
Dicker misses the drop zone for the first time on his last kickoff, giving KC a start on the 40 for their winning drive. Etc, etc, etc.

Games don't get any closer than that.
                        We lost. Bummer.

I think we all do. Perspective, as Stinky put it.

We can appreciate that but it's still going to be a gut punch to miss out on the playoffs after starting 7-3, 8-4. Two things can be true at once.
