Bumping this thread for something I heard when listening to Will Brinson today on the radio.

He made a comment today that the Chargers are a "very flawed team that is poorly coached" and that Lynn seems like a nice guy but "is a poor coach and his team makes mistakes all the time". He had an article after the Rams game calling out Lynn for kicking a fg with 11:49 left when we were down by 15. There was another article by a different writer at CBS also critical of Lynn - evidently they aren't Lynn fans.

Do you think we are poorly coached?

I personally disagree with some of his game management -- and that is the HC's direct call. Things like the referenced FG and the way he worked the clock towards the end of the 49er game when the bolts had their last possession before the int. I think Bradley and Whiz and the assistants are all good coaches who coach the players well on their respective areas. I think Lynn is a good CEO type and that is what you want in your HC. So in balance, I don't agree overall with the assessment, outside the game management. If the Chargers kicker makes more kicks, is Lynn a good coach all of a sudden?

What I do like about Lynn is his apparent emphasis on not getting Rivers hit.

Yep. Not all injurirs are equal.
we have lost to the two top "ranked" teams thus far while battling those injuries. Superbowls are not won in September and we haven't played our way out of it early. i expect us to get much better as the season progresses.

this offseason I harped about ST and K being our two biggest priorities as they kept us from the playoffs last year. I will puke in my mouth if it happens again this year. it is a super strong DL draft this season, and I hope that is our top priority. I would wait 1 more season to draft a QB early.
