Need to see more from Pope before edging out Newsome, but for now keeping both. Otherwise cut one and maybe keep Brown or Square, or Gordon if he returns. Wilson getting a lot of time with the 1's is telling. With all the additions to LB, not sure I see a big role for Brown, and I liked what I saw from Wilson in the Saints game. Keeping guys who can rush and get sacks is a no brainer, so Peace to backup Ingram and Lanier to backup Bosa and add length to the DL. Never been big on Richards or Watkins, Teamer can play both safety and slot corner and be a Special Teamer.

I think you've got too many DE, especially since Nwosu can play there. Drop Peace or Lanier and add Jatavis back into the linebacker mix. I also think they keep 5 safeties, so add Watkins back in. I'm not sure about 6 wide receivers, and Dontrelle Inman will make the roster. Geremy Davis will be the odd man out. I don't think they will keep Newsome and Pope on the roster. One of them will start the season on the practice squad. Not sure Culkin makes the squad either.

Per Popper DIME D has Rayshawn staying put at FS,
Adrian moving from SS to NLB,
and Watkins inserted at SS.

This sounds right ("hire the vet")
and is a look we should see about half of the time
when we are out there on defense.

I thought watkins was supposed to be our FS last year before getting injured.
I don't know if he's built for SS

Imo no shot Dzub makes it at expense of tranquill and Wilson. I also do not see Pickett making the team. Williams is on the fence and slipping off to the wrong side.

my thought is that Tranquill is (much) more a WIL than MLB, and that he spells Thomas Davis if he goes down, and.... Kyle Wilson may be alright, but needs to gain some weight for MIKE.

and personally prefer Pickett to Roderic Teamer, albeit won't be surprised if he gets poached (much like Tony Brown did by the Pack last offseason) if we send him to the ps ??

and not really up to speed on the Williams situation, which could well be in the balance.... who takes his place on the 53 ??

As an additional example, Thursday night, the J'ville announcers claimed they have a surplus @ OL. Apparently some unknowns are stepping up.

They drafted Jawaan Taylor. Cam Robinson is getting healthy. Cedric Ogbuehi was a cheap FA signing. He is a former round 1 underachiever, due to injury. This creates value for coupon king TT. There's others.

Teams carpet bomb at OL, then cannot keep everyone. We will be able to find a Swing Tackle, should it be determined Drango is a no. It would happen after week 1, so as to have no guarantee on the contract.

I think the team really likes Tranquill and will not leave him exposed through waivers. Dzub is a fine ST player, but he is an outright liability on D. Teamer has way more versatility than Pickett, so I think you have that one incorrect as well. Wilson also will make it as Dzub is gone IMO...he is a better athlete, offers more currently and has a much higher ceiling in our scheme. I don't think TT brought in a bunch of athletic LBs so he could go forward with the same old plodders with only changing Davis for Emmanuel. It was a huge point of focus, and they aren't going to stand pat. Just my .02
